We’ve probably all heard the story about the guy that gets pulled over by the cops and eats his stash to avoid getting busted for possession. And the result of that meant the guy was high for days afterwards…
In this myth-buster video from Straincentral, Josh is talking about whether or not you will get high from eating raw weed. And enjoys some sweet hits, too!
The essential step of decarboxylation
In order to release the full potential of marijuana’s psychoactive effects, Josh explains, buds must first go through the cannabis alchemy called decarboxylation. Raw cannabis contains a lot of THCA which is not psychoactive (meaning it doesn’t get you high). However when you apply heat, such as a flame or vaporize, cannabis becomes ‘decarboxylated’ by the heat and at this point becomes psychoactive (get’s you high) as the THCA is converted into THC.
The health benefits of raw cannabis
Josh talks about the health benefits that consuming THCA can have, from stopping seizures to helping fight cancer. Additionally, cannabis is a complete protein, loaded with Omega 3’s and 6’s.
Check out the video below to see Josh explaining what, if anything, happens when you eat raw cannabis.
