We all know the voice, you know the ones from the visa commercials. The same one that voiced God and Vitruvius from the Lego movie where everything is awesome! Now Morgan Freeman is using his famous voice to advocate for marijuana’s many uses.
In this video a reporter from Wochit Entertainment News paraphrases an interview that was done with Morgan Freeman by The Daily Beast and zeroes in on a few key comments the actor made about his stance on marijuana. Watch the video below.
Morgan Freeman doesn’t understand why marijuana isn’t legal
One of the major sticking points for Freeman’s viewpoint on the legalization of marijuana is its many uses other than getting high. He uses the example of kids who have Grand Mal seizures also known as a generalized tonic-clonic seizure. This is the type of seizure most people picture in their minds when they hear the word seizure. It is punctuated by a loss of consciousness and violent muscle contractions. Grand Mal seizures are caused by abnormal electrical activity throughout the brain.
Freeman notes that with the use of cannabis their symptoms can be eased to the point where people who suffer from Grand Mal seizures are able to live a normal life without fear of seizing in public.
Woodstock showed us how
Freeman also gave The Daily Beast a funny tidbit when he said, “They used to say, you smoke that stuff boy, you get hooked.” as he laughed denoting how ridiculous it sounds now with the knowledge that cannabis is not an addictive substance. If Woodstock showed us anything it’s that “Life is easier if marijuana use is acceptable” stated Freeman.
Here’s to hoping Morgan Freeman’s famous voice can help the government move towards legalizing marijuana.
