If you haven’t heard of the 420 Games, then you’ve been missing out! The 420 Games take place nationwide and are host to some of the world’s best athletes and cannabis supporters. On July 22, Denver will host its annual 420 Games and Athletes for Care Kickball Tournament – and you’re invited!
Established to show that cannabis users are not lazy, unmotivated or “stoners” – the 420 Games are the perfect place for cannabis users to showcase their athleticism. The Games are open to the public. Participants will enjoy the opportunity to explore the health benefits of cannabis in a fun way.
This year’s Denver 420 Games includes a 4.20-mile run (you can walk or jog if you’d like), live music, and a variety of activities and networking opportunities for the whole family.
Athletes for Care
Athletes for Care (A4C) is a non-profit organization created by a group of professional athletes uniting as one voice. Their mission: to advocate for research, education, and compassion when addressing important health issues facing athletes and the public at large.
A major narrative in professional sports lately is the use of opiates and how cannabis could be an alternative. The grizzly dilemma of whether medical marijuana use should be allowed in professional sports, especially as an alternative to addictive painkillers, is a pillar of A4C’s message.
That is why A4C teamed up with the 420 Games to bring the First Annual Athletes for Care Kickball Tournament to Denver.
Kickball with the Pros
The A4C Kickball Tournament invites participants to join the team of one of six former professional athletes. For a small $20 price tag, you can play on the team of an A4C captain from the NFL or UFC.
- UFC Legend Frank Shamrock
- Denver Bronco’s Alumni Charlie Adams, Tatum Bell, and Reuben Droughns
- Charger Alumni Marques Harris
- Jaguar Alumni Eben Britton
After the tournament, you can purchase VIP tickets for a meet and greet with the team captains. The proceeds from the tournament will go to continuing the supporting research, education, and compassion for the health of athletes and the public at large.
Activist athletes or Athlete activists?
One of the interesting aspects of this year’s A4C Captain’s roster is that several of them are more than cannabis supporters. These guys are working both publicly and privately to advocate for the safe and healthy use of cannabis.
For example, Charlie Adams is a brand ambassador for Receptra Naturals, a pure CBD oil producer in Colorado. With his help, their Active Lifestyle line of hemp products is now the favorite of many professional athletes.
Marques Harris is an owner of the spectacular cannabis facility District 8. D8 is taking conscientious cultivation to new levels in Colorado and their products prove it!
The athletes and their organization A4C are working from experience and a passion for improving the lives of their friends, families and communities. Hopefully, you will join forces with them on July 22nd in Denver.
