    Commercial growing is limited to licensed entities. Washington limits aggregate grow area to 2M sq ft, while Colorado has no restriction. Colorado residents can also possess 6 plants (3 flowering).

  • Production

    Washington: Licenses are needed to produce, process & retail. Vertical integration is banned. Colorado: Licenses are needed to cultivate, manufacture & retail. No restriction on integration.

  • Stores

    Washington allows no more than 334 stores statewide whereas Colorado has no limit.

  • Purchase

    Product can be legally bought from a retail store by anyone 21 years of age or older in both states.

  • Possession

    In both states, residents over 21 can possess up to 1oz of flower. Visitors of Washington have the same rights, Whereas visitors of Colorado over 21 can possess only 1/4oz of flower.

  • Penalties

    Consuming or displaying product in public may result in a fine of up to $100 in both states. Colorado laws also state include penalties of incarceration for up to 15 days.

  • Testing

    In Washington, quality testing is mandated to improve product consistency and consumer safety. In Colorado, All products sold after May 1st, 2014 are subject to mandatory quality testing.
