This tragic story is about a 24-year-old college student named Charles Clark, who lost $11,000 in a civil forfeiture case while flying home from Cincinnati. The customs agent smelled marijuana on Clark’s clothing and called the local DEA to deal with the traveller. After interrogation, Clark’s money was declared to be the proceeds of drug crime (really?) and must prove his money’s innocence to reclaim it.
