Each December we commit to changing our lives in the new year. We all know how tough it is to stick to our lofty resolutions, so to build momentum and confidence let’s give these 5 manageable marijuana resolutions a shot.

1. Share more often

Let’s face it, marijuana can get expensive. For some people the cost of consuming marijuana may encourage them to keep it all for themselves, but this year you should make an effort to spread the love. Maybe your stash won’t last as long, but your generosity will not go unnoticed. You don’t have to share or give away everything you have, but just once and awhile try to go out of your way to find a friend in need.

2. Clean your accessories

After an entire year of smoking, your pipes, bongs, grinders, vape pens, and even your favorite smoking room can get overrun with marijuana messes. This year, vow to keep your things clean. If you have many smoking accessories and the idea of keeping them all clean seems daunting, pick out 2 or 3 that you will always keep clean. Before you know it, you will have developed a habit of cleanliness that you will not be able to live without. There are some great cleaning products out there that will make this resolution a lot easier. If you have a favorite smoking room, buy an air purifier and some trusty ash receptacles. Keeping that room clean will add to your enjoyment. Sit back and bask in your cultivated cleanliness.

3. Exercise

This is one of the most frequent new year resolutions. We all want to work on our physique or just exercise for general health. Did you know that marijuana can help? We covered the effects of marijuana on exercising earlier this year here. You will need to experiment to find the perfect balance of marijuana intake to exercise effectiveness, but in just a short time you will find that the two compliment each other. If you do not like lifting weights or running on the treadmill, try to find a sport that you can get immersed in. Many folks report their love for playing basketball when they are high. What is your exercising passion?

4. Support pro-legalization efforts

Just because you say you are for marijuana legalization, doesn’t necessarily mean you are doing anything to help further the movement. There are a variety of organizations that you can support through donations or volunteer work. Try looking for meetups in your city or town that are marijuana related. Write a letter to your local congressman…hell write a letter to the President. Anything you can do to help bring awareness to the benefits of marijuana use is huge. This will also give you a chance to build your cannabis network. Maybe you will find some people to share stories, bud, and life with. Maybe you will find someone who wants to share with you!

5. Take a marijuana break

I saved the toughest resolution for last. If you manage to conquer the first 4, give this one a shot. Taking a break from marijuana consumption might be tough for you, after all it is part of your routine. But if you can muster the strength to string a few days of marijuana sobriety together, you will find a new clarity in your thinking accompanied by a renewed appreciation for cannabis. When you come back to smoking, you may notice that you actually want to smoke less overall, maybe not. One thing is for sure, your tolerance will go down after a few days and that first day back to smoking will hit you like a ton of green bricks!
