The whole “stoner” stereotype is becoming a thing of the past, and that’s exactly what we’re aiming for. It’s time we show people how cannabis may benefit them, positively of course, and all of that begins with you.

1. We need to get rid of the “stoner” stereotype

We’re tired of hearing that cannabis users are “lazy” and “unmotivated” because truth be told, we’re not all like that. Wine enthusiasts are not considered to be alcoholics, so why should cannabis enthusiasts be considered “stoners”? At the end of the day, it’s up to you to help combat the social stigma associated with cannabis.

2. You may be missing out on quality time

Smoking weed and vegging out on the couch can be nice once in a while, but making it a habit is bad news. You probably have friends who aren’t as into cannabis as you are, and that’s more than okay. Don’t miss out on opportunities with your friends and family because you just “have to smoke some pot.” And let’s be honest, nobody wants to have FOMO.

3. It’s time to welcome the cannabis connoisseur

In a land far, far away, enjoying cannabis after a long day’s work is just as acceptable as unwinding with a glass of wine. Don’t you want to live in that land far, far away? Of course you do. Soon, cannabis will be just as customary as cracking open a beer with your buddies, but we need to get rid of the “stoner” stigma before we start to see this change.

4. You can be successful and enjoy cannabis

This just in: You can enjoy cannabis while still being a productive member of society. Seriously, it’s true. Well-known astronomer and astrophysicist, Carl Sagan, a genius if you will, was known to be a major cannabis enthusiast. Remember Michael Phelps, the guy who took hits off of a bong and went on to win a total of 22 Olympic medals? Yeah, that guy set 39 world records. He can argue all he wants that it was “one time” but come on, the photos clearly showed that it wasn’t his first rodeo.

5. Cannabis can be used to help put you in touch with your creative side

A lot of people consume cannabis to unleash their creative genius, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Steve Jobs once explained the motive behind his marijuana usage was that it helped him relax and made him more creative. I bet you’re reading this on your iPhone right now, and well, you can probably thank the ganja for that.

6. Nobody is taking you seriously

Let’s face it. Nobody is going to take you seriously if you consider yourself a “stoner” or a “pothead.” Even though cannabis is becoming more acceptable in modern society, you’re not getting anywhere by maintaining a “stoner” type lifestyle. We want people to take cannabis enthusiasts seriously. Help us help you!

7. We need your help for legalization

Marijuana activists from all over the country have stopped at nothing to put an end to prohibition. It makes it hard for the rest of us who want to legalize marijuana in pursuit of helping those who may need it for their medical conditions. We want people to learn about how cannabis may benefit them in a positive way. We want people to understand that they don’t need to get high or be a “stoner” to benefit from cannabis. There is a substantial amount of evidence that shows how cannabis can help various ailments, and its up to us to make sure people are educated on the matter.

Together, we can show people that there’s a lot more to marijuana than just “getting stoned.” Take a moment to educate your family and friends on how cannabis can be used positively and effectively. Let’s show people that cannabis users can be productive and can accomplish their goals.

What do you think about the term “stoner”? Is it time to put an end to it?  Let us know on social media or by commenting below.
