Do you like to watch things grow tall and up to your ceiling? Then you might want to grow your own marijuana in your own home. Here’s our list of five reasons to grow at home.
1. You have full control
Just by growing your own marijuana you can take care of every aspect of the operation yourself. There’s a lot of details to think about and you get to research and read all about ’em! You’re going to decide things like organic fertilizer or buy the other kind. Also, you’ll learn how to design your own grow room and then there’s what strains you’re gonna cultivate. Don’t forget the laws in your own state about how many plants you can grow legally. You’ll want to read up on those and make yourself familiar.
2. Do you have a green thumb?
Are you the first one to sign up for a plot at the community garden in your building? Do you volunteer to clean up at your local park or trail? Ever ask a farmer if you could hang out and get your hands dirty on their ranch? Maybe you’ve hung plants you bought at the local garden store around your patio so they can get some sun? If you are this into plants then you probably have a green thumb and growing marijuana is for you.
3. Grow at home and save money
It’s like those beer drinkers who brew their own beer and those cigarette smokers who grow their own tobacco. Wait a minute . . . you’re just like these people now! Think about how much money you spend when you buy pot every week and you’ll see you stand to save a lot by growing your own reefer.
4. It’s fun
Growing your own marijuana plants will make you feel good that you’re doing something positive for yourself. You’ve accomplished something really cool and now you can put them in your brownies! There are many groups online and off you can attend and there you’ll meet other people growing their own plants like you are. Oh and the things you’ll learn! You’ll have a great time meeting others who’re going through the same “details” of growing marijuana plants on their own.
5. It “should” be legal
Canadian lawyer and cannabis advocate Kirk Tousaw begs the question, “. . . you can buy a plant in the stores but you can’t grow it in your backyard. That seems to me to be a very serious infringement around Section 7 of the Charter [of Rights and Freedoms], which protects a person’s autonomy and personal liberties.” To read more about Canada’s weed laws click here.
