The authorities cancelled the High Times Cannabis Cup in Denver, the weather cancelled the 420 Rally and concert at City Park, so what are Coloradian’s to do this 420? The answer is mostly musical and centered around Red Rocks and other historic concert venues. Take a look at these five Colorado 420 events to help you plan your holiday in the Mile High.
1. On 420 eve hit up Red Rocks
On the eve of 4/20, in the aftermath of Denver’s latest snow storm, you should head to Red Rocks to see the one and only Redman, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, and the Chef himself Raekwan ( as well as Collie Buddz Joey Bada$$ and others). This Red Rocks show dubbed as “420 Eve on the Rocks” is sure to get you bumpin’ with blunts and bass. Let Pharma Bro Martin Shkrelli know he isn’t welcome- GFK will probably have a hit out on that ass.
2. Red Rocks on 420
If you are into the trap seen, you should hit Red Rocks on 420. Flosstradamus will headline with the Canadian sensation Snails to bring your some of the most brain-rattling beats known to man. Be sure to get your double dose of cannabinoids before, during, and after the show- remember they are patented neuroprotectants. Neuroprotectants will keep your brain from rattling during those heavy drops.
3. Snoop Dogg, Future, and Friends
If you don’t want to hit the Red Rocks scene this year, head down to Fiddler’s Green to see the true 420 gangsta Snoop Dogg. He has invited his homie Future as well as some unnamed “friends” to perform this year, just south of Denver. I’ll be there, give me a holla.
4. The University of Denver Marijuana Summit
The University of Denver is hosting a Marijuana Summit on 420 this year. This year the university will cover the science, biology, and laws of marijuana at an event on their campus. Tickets are $75 for the general public, but there are discounts available for alumni and students. Everything else in Denver is based on having fun and getting high, this event will surely bring some enlightenment to the noggins of the marijuana maniacs.
Listen, stoners, there is a chance that we collectively ruined the Denver Cannabis Cup last year with our goofy antics. Learn the lesson. I am disappointed with myself and others after what I witnessed at the cup in 2015. Let’s be good this year. Enjoy responsibly, and fight for a better 2017.
