With the U.S. federal government still holding onto traditional and erroneous views on the medical applications of cannabis, progressive senators like Cory Booker and Kirsten Gillibrand are vital in the progressive transformation of federal laws.

Flawed opinion

As highlighted in the video below, the acting chief of the DEA refers to medical marijuana as a “joke”. This represents a fundamental arrogance in the U.S. government if the Chief of the D.E.A. doesn’t even fully understand the benefits of one of the most popular drugs in the world. It is going to require a good majority of progressive politicians, as well as public demand, to get the old world views on cannabis changed in all levels of the American government.

Proof is in the patients

With such a skewed stereotype of what people assume about medical marijuana, more people should receive access to the medicine to display the legitimateness of the plant as proper treatments for a wide range of illnesses. From PTSD to back pain, patients around the world can attest to the healing power of this herb.

” You cannot tell me there is no medical impact when a child with 100 seizures a day, has zero a day.” – Senator Kirsten Gillibrand

“What should come to people’s mind [about medical marijuana] is a PTSD veteran, who is desperate for something to help them get their lives back together.” – Senator Cory Booker

Do you think these progressive senators can bring the federal government to their senses? Or do you think they will realize the benefits from legal states like Colorodo and Washington? Join the discussion on social media or in the comments below.
