In the lexicon of most common ways to get rid of evidence, this is probably in the Family Feud top 3. That doesn’t mean the and at it is a universally effective tactic. For three guys in Warrior Square in Manor Park, they might have just proved that crime stinks.

If your eyes are welling up with tears, it could be the sight, or the smell. Police showed up at the property around 8pm, but occupants refused to let them in. The police, “Alerted by a strong smell of cannabis coming through the letterbox,” forced their way in, only to find a mess in the water closet.

Water was backed up and spilling across the floor, as the men tried in vain to flush evidence of their “budding” cannabis distribution enterprise.

While the men, aged 29 and 30, were busted for possession with intent to supply a class B drug and later bailed pending further inquiries, Detective Inspector Gordon Henderson, from Newham police, is happy.

The officers involved acted diligently and promptly and I am pleased their actions resulted in three arrests and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs. – D.I.Henderson

In addition to the”overwhelming” evidence, there were also digital scales at the scene, lending further credence to the notion that the men were dealers. Unfortunately, their hopes of destroying the evidence are the only thing that went down the drain.

Courtesy spray?

There is a lack of information at this point as to why the police were called to the residence in the first place, though if the actions of these criminal masterminds are any indication of their normal operating practices, they probably tipped off the police themselves. If the cops could smell it through the letterbox, maybe these guys should have learned to do a courtesy spray?

East Ham South and Wall end teams took part in the raid, while Scotland Yard’s Newham branch is doing the investigation, and had the dubious honor of posting these pictures on Twitter. News outlets are mocking the men, and their stash with monikers like “Feces O.G.” Apparently these guys need to re-read the chapter of the weed handbook that talks about keeping a low (odor) profile.
