There are so many ways to smoke weed. From glass pipes to vaporizers, you have plenty of options to keep you from getting tired of the same thing. Of course, they all look different on the outside. But are they really that different when it comes to how they get you high? Absolutely. Not only do some devices get you baked faster, but some also require less pot to get you where you want to be. Whether you’re new to the world of weed or are looking to try out a new piece, here are the differences between the most popular smoking methods.
One of the most common instruments weed smokers use is the hand pipe, also known as the bowl. In addition to being easy to pack, it’s small enough to throw in your purse or bookbag. That can come in handy when you have places to be.
To operate a hand pipe, all you have to do is pack the bowl, cover the carb (if it has one), spark the bud, release the carb and inhale. While they can get anyone pretty high, they are more so for beginners. Not just because they are so simple to use, but also because most aren’t designed to produce massive hits.
From bongs to bubblers, water pipes are popular for a couple of reasons. First, they offer cooler, smoother hits. Because of water, duh. Second, it doesn’t take much effort to get high, considering how much smoke you can take in with just one puff.
As far as operating it goes, it works similar to a hand pipe in that you load the bowl with bud. The difference is that the bowl is meant to be removed once the chamber fills with smoke and you inhale.
Blunts are weed rolled in cigar wraps. Since you get a buzz from nicotine and with pot as well, combining the two offers a unique high, which is perhaps why people enjoy them. Also, once you’re done, you’re done. No clean up necessary. Well, besides the guts, of course.
To point out one other perk of smoking blunts, you just have to light them once. They’ll continuously burn, so long as you don’t run your mouth for too long, anyway. As for the downside with blunts, they call for more ganja than you would need for a bong or bowl.
Unlike blunts, joints are rolled using paper that doesn’t contain nicotine. And they’re also smaller, too, which means less weed is necessary. They are similar in that they will keep burning as long as you keep toking.
In regards to the high, it feels more natural than blunts since you’ll only be feeling the effects of the ganja. That’s why joints have been a long time favorite amongst pot consumers. They don’t have to worry about inhaling the byproducts that burning tobacco produces.
For those looking for a buzz like no other, and a strong one at that, they turn to dabbing. While more tools are required, the quick, powerful high makes it all worth it. First, the consumer will heat up their dab rig using a torch, aiming it at the nail. After a 10-15 second cool down, they take a dabber, apply the desired amount of concentrate, and then touch it to the nail while inhaling at the same time. Different from other smoking methods, it can take as little as one hit for you to get super stoned.
Vaping is one of the most popular ways to inhale the herb. Not only can you get high discreetly, but you can also consume cannabis in a variety of forms, from flower to concentrates. Compared to other devices, the high is quite different. In fact, it can sneak up on you. But once it’s there, it’s nice and mellow.SHARE
