Content Manager

Herb is the world’s largest and most engaged cannabis community. A brief overview

As a content manager, you are an expert in content operations and digital publishing. Your role is to manage the content pipeline for both several large clients and our internal content verticals to ensure that quality content is being delivered and published on schedule. Your goal is to ensure that editorial processes are moving smoothly, manage a team of senior writers and create a supportive, collaborative working environment. As content manager, you will assign articles and manage the content calendars for all written content at Herb. You will keep the editorial calendar up to date, keep writers on schedule and upload the final deliverables to the Herb website. As content manager you are the senior leader on the content team and will guide the editorial team to success. More than just a content operations whiz, you will also be the bridge between the editorial team and the executive team. Simply put, you’ll be in charge of the consistent production and publishing of informative, engaging content that will help brands get discovered, generate leads, improve loyalty and increase sales.


  • Work closely with the SEO team to assign keywords/outlines to the editorial team
  • Ensure that content is SEO-optimized to increase discoverability
  • Ensure article quality is amazing
  • Mentor a team of writers to help fuel a culture of learning and growth
  • Lead editorial meetings
  • Optimizing editorial operations to ensure work is being delivered and published on time
  • Edit articles
  • Be available inside of our Slack to keep communication flowing smoothly with our team
  • Work with the Editor-in-Chief to sustainably grow content operations
  • Lead editorial meetings each week
  • Dedicate two hours per week to documenting and improving processes
  • Prepare weekly reports on published content
  • Participate in client meetings to understand their tone of voice, goals and put them to action
  • Participate in executive meetings to understand internal goals
  • Onboard new clients
  • Hire and onboard new editorial staff as needed
