Countries around the world are changing their opinions, and laws, concerning cannabis. If you are travelling through the United States, things can get confusing because each state has its own laws, that may or may not conflict with the Federal Government. To prevent any unwanted police hassles, let’s take a moment to get an idea of what is OK, and what will get you in a load of trouble, in each state.

As of right now, it is legal to have an ounce or less of recreational marijuana in Colorado, Oregon, Alaska, Washington State, and Washington DC. In Colorado & Alaska, you can “gift” up to an ounce to a friend. In Alaska, you can have up to 4 ounces in your private residence. Oregon you can have 4 plants, Colorado & Alaska, 6. Be warned, just because an ounce is okay, doesn’t mean you are 100% safe. Possess any amount with intent to distribute, or grow any plants in Washington State, and it’s a felony, with a 5-year sentence.

Oregon itself is a complicated state. Some counties support it, some do not. It’s best to plan your driving route accordingly.

Medically Legal

The following states have CBD oil medicine laws, which means virtually no THC:

Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

If you happen to find relief from this medicine, you may be fortunate enough to be able to use it in these states, but be warned, some don’t even have legal purchasing options, and some require the medicine be imported by the state on your behalf.

Okay, But How Bad Is It Really?

It’s still a dangerous world out there for those of us who feel that our bodies are ours alone, and shouldn’t be the domain of the government, so stay safe readers, and keep the faith. We ARE making a difference.
