M&M’s are releasing a new flavor in honor of their 75th anniversary, and that flavor is going to blow your mind.
M&M’s are one of the world’s favorite chocolatey treats, the go-to snack when the munchies strike. Coming in many flavors, like peanut butter and red velvet, it’s hard to choose a favorite. M&M’s are releasing a new flavor, and that flavor is caramel. Although it won’t be available for a few months, the world cannot possibly contain their excitement, nor can our stomachs.
As if M&M’s aren’t delicious enough already, a new flavor is coming to town in honor of the M&M’s 75th anniversary, and you’re going to love it.
The thought of caramel-filled M&M’s may not excite everyone. But, on the other hand, even those that dislike caramel are all about this new flavor. In fact, it’s hard not to drool with a description like,
A creamy caramel centre covered in delicious milk chocolate, enclosed in a colorful candy shell.
In addition to that description, people are also saying that the candy tastes just like butter beer. It sounds amazing, that’s for sure. Unfortunately, though, the new flavor will not be available until May of 2017, according to People. Still, the stomachs of many are rumbling for the new and improved M&M’s.
Will caramel become your new favorite M&M?
With so many flavors of M&M’s on the shelves, like pretzels and honey nut, it’s hard to pick a favorite. Although some flavors come and go, caramel will be staying. In fact, the candy’s company believes it will be the most popular flavor yet. Moreover, it will be the largest product launch in the brand’s history.
For the most part, people love caramel. Likewise, people love M&M’s. As a result of combining the two, the world may have a new favorite candy. Although it will certainly be chewy, there’s no denying that people are drooling and ready to have a sample.
According to Hank Izzo, vice president of research and development for parent company Mars Chocolate, creating the new flavor came with challenges,
It was a big technological challenge for us. We had to figure out how to not make the chocolate too sticky or too soft that it could collapse.
Izzo says that caramel isn’t just a childhood favorite, but it’s also trending and is continuing to grow in popularity, despite not yet being on the shelves. It’s clear the flavor is going to bring in some serious cash. Moreover, it’s going to be in everyone’s candy drawer.
