Video games today may have the graphics, they may have the special effects, they may sport more blood and gore than ever before, but nothing beats the Nintendo classics for playability over and over again. If you feel the only way to kick it is old school, then fall in love with these throwback treads!
Nintendo and Vans
The shoes that rock the fashion world are rocking the classics with a line of retro runners that really roll back the years. Just look at these controller covered kicks and you will feel the urge to pull that box down from the attic and blow on a cartridge or two you once obsessed over.
The original shooter
The NES took home gaming to a level that took other systems years to catch up to. Even now, it has games that still survive the test of time, and have inspired countless generations of gaming evolution. Who needs Halo when you can get your quick draw up to speed with Duck Hunt, the original first-person shooter!
The first real action hero
Time to go shrooming with a guy who knows his pipes digs the underground scene, and always saves the lady! Mario was the man who knew the power of the flower. And of course, he knew how to fight fire-breathing beasts with his own red-hot skills to take down a king named Koopa. I mowed lawns all summer as a kid to save enough to buy this console with the Mario/Duck Hunt combo game.
Link was the long-eared loner lad long before Legolas lit the screen. He fought spiders, skeletons, and the biggest, baddest pig to ever grace the screen, Ganon.
A blast from the past
Vans know how to give you flashbacks that leave a smile, with a box that you won’t even want to let go of. There’s no better way to box these new soles for an old soul than with the greatest console ever sold.
If you had one of these in your house, your parents had the ultimate tool to punish bad behavior. How many loads of dishes did you do to play for an hour before bed? Not as many as I did, I’m guessing.
More than just treads
The new Vans line also includes tees, backpacks, hoodies, flip flops, sleeveless tops, socks and more, so you can add a little 1up to your wardrobe and power-up your life. I’m going ape over the look of this Donkey Kong hat, and I think you know why. Hint, those are some nice trees!
For cannabis cravers and console ravers, the game doesn’t have to be over, put new life in your step and slip into some Vans, because true heroes never die.
