The heavily hyped Tupac movie “All Eyez on Me”, has had a few hurdles to jump through during its creation. It appears that BMG Music Publishing is postponing the film’s premiere date due to a dispute involving Daz Dillinger and Tupac’s famous track “Ambitionz Az a Ridah.”
The rights to a Legend
Tupac’s famous lyrics from that track were heavily used in the trailer for a nostalgic feel. The rights to the track apparently haven’t been clearly established and have caused some disputes over financial compensation.
Originally having a September release date that coincides with the 20th anniversary of Tupac’s death, the date will probably be closer to November according to TMZ. Daz Dillinger has had disputes with BMG Music over the rights of other content, which resulted in a lawsuit this last April.
Even with all the drama surrounding the rights of Tupac’s lyrics, Daz thinks the movie should still be released sometime this winter. He posted a short clip displaying his confidence in the movie through his Instagram account a couple of days ago. His rant has some profanities, so keep that in mind when watching the video below.
