While weed isn’t legal everywhere, you can expect to find pot smokers in every town. But of course, some cities are more ganja-friendly than others. And as a fellow marijuana maven, it’s always good to know all the best places to smoke pot. Maybe you love the herb so much that you’re packing up your entire life to move to a city surrounded by marijuana smoke. Or, it could be you just want one unforgettable vaca at a destination where you can toke at your leisure. Whatever the case may be, here are the top ten weed cities in the U.S.

1. Denver, Colorado

Everyone knows Denver, aka the Mile High City, is one of the top ten smoking cities in the U.S. That’s because it’s home to all sorts of legal bud and bud-friendly activities. Not only are there a ton of dispensaries featuring practically every pot product imaginable, but there are also 420 tour buses, glassblowing studios, and much more.

2. Seattle, Washington

Seattle is without a doubt one of the most beautiful, legal weed cities in Washington State. In addition to hosting Hempfest each year, which happens to be the largest cannabis gathering in the world, Seattle consists of all sorts of relaxing outdoor spaces, from Gas Works Park to Alki Beach Park. If you’re visiting the Emerald City, be sure to rest your legs at one of their many Airbnbs, such as Bed, Baked and Beyond, where toking is 100% tolerated.

3. Washington, D.C.

Next on the top ten weed cities in the U.S. list is the District of Colombia, better known as the Wild West for Weed. You may not be allowed to purchase or sell marijuana there, but if the herb is given to you as a gift, it’s totally OK to smoke it up. You can both smoke and possess up to two ounces of tasty weed nugs privately without any interference. Also, there are lots of things to do that incorporate smoking the ganja in DC, like Puff, Pass, Paint, an art class just for weed smokers. Not to mention, the nation’s capital boasts a variety of epic museums and monuments, which are a sight to see while stoned. Think: the Lincoln Memorial at night or dinosaurs fossils at the Museum of Natural History.

4. Portland, Oregon

Portland, Portland, Portland. What’s not to love about Portland? For starters, Portland has over 400 dispensaries. Second of all, there are endless amounts of munchies, from taco stands to bakeries. And if you have an MMJ card and 20 bucks, then that grants you access to the NW Cannabis Club, a weed lounge that features a 50-foot dab bar.

5. Los Angeles, California

Another one of the top ten weed cities in the U.S. is, of course, LA. You might know LA as Hollyweed. Left and right, there’s nothing but ocean, sunshine, and legal marijuana. Oh, and there’s weed-friendly limousines, cannabis dance classes, and specialty cooking courses where you can create all sorts of infused dishes like cannabis ice cream.

6. Maui, Hawaii

Hawaii is full of dreamy, weed cities. In Maui, Hawaii, where Hawaii’s first legal marijuana sale took place, life’s a beach… and you’re toking in paradise. Not only is Maui’s climate ideal for growing cannabis, but there are also plenty of killer smoke spots. You can spark a J in front of a ginormous volcano. Or, plop your tush on the beach, soak up the island sun, and enjoy several hits of that sweet sticky icky. Fun fact: Maui even has its own strain, Maui Wowie.

7. Boston, Massachusetts

Boston was one of the top ten weed cities in the U.S. long before they legalized recreational marijuana. But now that it’s legal, life in Boston is about to become much, much greener. Soon, there will be weed spas, where you can relax and get rubbed down in pot-infused oil by a trained masseuse. Cannabis cafes are coming to town too which will allow consumers to order quality bud and smoke it on-site as if they were ordering a cocktail at a local bar.

8. Portland, Maine

Portland, Maine is one of the top ten weed cities in the U.S. as far as the East Coast goes. Because of its climate, which is more than suitable for growing ganja, you can expect to smoke some of the finest buds there. Not to mention, the scenery, between Casco Bay and the Merrill Auditorium, is out of this world. You won’t have a hard time staying high and entertained in Portland, that’s for sure.

9. Louisville, Kentucky

Weed cities? Louisville, Kentucky? You wouldn’t think so but believe it or not, marijuana is one of the more valuable crops in Louisville. While cannabis isn’t legal there, when it comes to smoking, law enforcement will, for the most part, turn a blind eye. When smoking in Louisville, be sure to satisfy your munchies at Against the Grain, where they serve BACON on a stick.

10. Anchorage, Alaska

If you’re planning a summer getaway to one of the best weed cities, consider Anchorage, Alaska. Not only is weed legal in Alaska, but during the summer, Alaska experiences almost 24 hours of sunlight per day. That means you can smoke all damn day if you want to.
