Pop Singer JJ Hannon Puts The “Can” In Cannabis

From instant success to losing his father, cannabis has helped JJ Hannon see the world clearer.

It’s not every day you wake up to a massive Instagram following. For 21-year-old pop singer JJ Hannon, this was his reality.

Today, Hannon boasts an impressive 1.6M following on Instagram, showing no signs of slowing down. But how did this young buck manage to win over the hearts of over a million people? Music.

A young JJ Hannon took his career by the horns at the mere age of 13, starting modeling and acting. Shortly after, he began posting music covers and short videos to his Instagram, which quickly took off. As time passed, JJ found himself touring North America with huge artists while getting a taste of life on tour at 15 years old.

He tells Distractify, “It’s all I really wanted to do. I wanted to be a singer, it was a dream of mine my whole life.” However, his journey to success “was very interesting, because I didn’t expect it to go as fast as it did.”

But how did he deal with such instant success? Of course, anxiety would linger before his big shows as a teenager, and he says, “It’s something that most 15-year-olds would be afraid of.”

Luckily, he had a loyal fanbase to catch him if he fell. “But I definitely would have to say just the amount of fan support meant the world,” Hannon told the publication.

However, JJ Hannon’s journey hasn’t always been sunshine and rainbows. In fact, he’s had to deal with one of the hardest challenges a son or daughter could ever face: losing their parent. JJ lost his father when he was 17.

Life became harder, and it was deeply challenging to pick himself back up and see the world in a brighter light once again. Not to mention, he had an enormous social following that he had to keep engaged, even when going through the most life-changing challenge one could ever experience.

When he turned 18, JJ looked to cannabis for relief. Like many of us, JJ started using marijuana in his late teens. What separates him from the pack is his admiration for the plant’s ability to help him see optimistically again.

Marijuana would calm him down and ground him, and his ability to think clearer changed for the better. Limiting his anxiety was another reason for his cannabis use, having lost his father while under pressure to continuously engage his followers.

JJ Hannon’s story is yet another example of the healing properties and benefits that cannabis has to offer. Today, 21-year-old Hannon is quite well versed in the marketing and crypto space, not to mention his passion for acting and hopes of making it onto the big screen.

His interest in the arts is inspiring, and with a little help from Mary Jane, he can take the world by the horns without missing a beat.

We’re thrilled to chat with you, JJ. What’s new? Anything you’d like to share with readers before we dive in?

I have some really cool upcoming music projects everyone should stay tuned for! As well as I have some very cool news regarding some film work!

What inspired you to start posting covers years ago? Did you have any idea that these videos would kick off a successful music career?

What inspired me was watching major artists such as Justin Bieber take the stage and have such an impact on the people listening to the music and I knew I wanted to be great. I was so inspired as well by being able to change lives through music.

Having lost your father at 17 while feeling the pressure of the music industry sounds incredibly challenging. How did cannabis help you recover from those anxious moments?

Losing my father was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through he was my best friend my hero. After the loss of him, my anxiety has been at an all-time high, especially before bed and cannabis helps soothe my anxiety and put me in a better mental place.

As a 21-year-old who can now use cannabis legally, what’s your current relationship like with the plant? Are you a frequent user, or do you only reach for cannabis when anxiety gets the best of you?

I am a user of cannabis at night time and when I am not training in basketball.

What would you say to someone looking to start using cannabis to improve their mental health? Is it something you’d recommend?

I would 100% recommend you to the fact that so many people try to get people to take pills and different things, and a natural remedy such as a plant such as marijuana allows you to be able to naturally heal and feel better about yourself, as opposed to having to rely on some sort of a medication.
