While it is commonly known among patients that cannabis can be used as an adjunct treatment to manage many of the symptoms associated with cancer or cancer treatments, there is still a stigma around using it. Many patients encounter trouble getting prescribed medical cannabis, and some are even pushed to the black market, where an untested product can carry health risks on its own. Herb spoke to patients and cannabis experts who believe that cannabis can help patients reduce their opioid intake and that cannabis research needs to move faster. People are suffering.
