What Can I Do With My Already-Vaped Buds?

Wondering how you can make the most of your flower? Save those AVBs (Already Vaped Buds)!

Already-vaped weed is not trash. Try to change my mind. You can’t! This is a cold hard fact that many cannabis connoisseurs can’t wrap their heads around.

Unfortunately, you’ve been throwing out a gold mine this whole time. Already-vaped buds still contain THC, enough to intoxicate you. Just because your buds have been vaped doesn’t mean they’re not depleted of THC, terpenes, and other minor cannabinoids.

Some believe that once you have vaped your buds, all the THC has been removed. That’s simply not the case. In fact, the amount of THC that remains in the buds depends on the temperature at which it is vaporized. Most of your leftover AVBs still have some THC, and today you’re going to learn how to use them.

When Vaping: Don't Blacken Your Buds

Before we dive into what to do with already-vaped buds, first things first, don’t vape your buds at high temperatures. You will know if the temperature is too high when you see that your buds have turned burnt, black, and crispy.

These black buds don’t contain enough THC to get you high, as they’ve been burnt to a crisp. Instead, the optimal vaping temperature for resuing your buds is around 350-375F. This still produces a fantastic high, and you’ll have some leftover THC. It’s a win-win.

AVBs Are Great For Cooking

Now, it’s probably not a good idea to smoke your AVBs. At this point, the buds have lost a lot of flavor, and the taste isn’t exactly great. However, already-vaped buds are excellent for cooking and infusing THC into various foods and beverages.

In order to make edibles, your cannabis must be heated to activate the cannabinoids like THC and CBD (aka decarboxylation). Only then will your edibles produce effects. Lucky for you, your AVBs have already been heated, meaning the THC and other cannabinoids are activated and will produce effects when ingested.

Already-vaped buds often contain about 20-30% of the THC they contained before you vaped it, and that is still plenty of THC for getting high on edibles.

This means you can save your vaped buds, and for your cannabutter, you can add twice as much weed as you usually do (it will be already vaped this time). When creating your cannabutter, use butter that has a very high-fat content. This will help your cannabinoids bind better to the butter.

High-Quality Tinctures

THC-B Tincture – 1000 mg

The THC-B Tincture from Binoid is a favorite on the market. This tincture contains 1000 mg of one of the best THCB distillates at 92% plus 8% of MCT oil that helps your glands absorb it smoothly.

Notice THCB is one of the most psychoactively potent cannabinoids available and hits way harder than regular THC. About 30 times harder. So, go slow with the dosage.

When using it, drop half a drop under your tongue and hold it for a minute before swallowing. The effects of tinctures can take some time to show up and are more intense than dry herbs. Thus, expect a heavy punch one hour after using it, and don’t take any more before it.

The THC-B tincture produces an incredible mental buzz and a peaceful body-relaxing action. You can feel out of your body when travelling far away without leaving your sofa.

DIY Tinctures

This is probably one of the more unusual things to do with your AVBs. This process involves the following steps:

  • Saving your AVBs (the recipe requires only about half an ounce of AVB to produce effects)
  • Mixing them with alcohol
  • Undergoing a distillation process to create a tincture

Check out the easy recipe here for a tincture we like to call the Green Dragon. After evaporating most of the alcohol from the mixture, it becomes a potent marijuana tincture. All you need is a few drops on the tongue to feel a buzz.

This is also a great option for medical marijuana patients since the tincture contains a comfortable level of THC, not enough for a powerful and overbearing buzz.

In summary, never throw your AVBs away. It may take a while to collect enough to make a batch of cannabutter, but there’s perfectly good THC available at your fingertips without visiting the dispensary. Sounds like a win to me.
