Sales Development Representative

About the Role

Herb is seeking a driven Sales Development Representative (Contractor) with a hunter mentality to join our growing sales team. This is a fully remote contractor position for someone who thrives on prospecting, building a pipeline, and opening doors with new accounts. If you’re energized by the chase and live for that first conversation with a prospect, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Hunt relentlessly for new business with cannabis brands and dispensaries through outbound prospecting (cold calling, email, social selling)
  • Own top-of-funnel by identifying and qualifying high-potential prospects in the cannabis industry
  • Generate qualified meetings and pipeline for Account Executives through personalized, multi-touch campaigns
  • Research prospect pain points around marketing, visibility, and regulatory challenges in cannabis
  • Consistently exceed monthly quotas for qualified meetings and pipeline generated
  • Maintain accurate activity tracking in HubSpot
  • Stay informed on cannabis industry trends to have credible conversations with prospects

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 2-3 years of SDR or outbound sales experience with proven quota attainment
  • Hunter DNA – self-motivated, competitive, and driven by results
  • Strong communication and qualification skills
  • Comfortable with high-volume outbound activity and rejection
  • Experience with HubSpot and modern sales tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, sales engagement platforms)
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred

  • Agency experience (media, advertising, marketing services, or SaaS)
  • Interest in cannabis, CBD, or wellness industries - Experience with ABM strategies
  • Understanding of cannabis business challenges (compliance, marketing restrictions)

Compensation & Structure

  • This is a contractor role with:
  • $50K CAD base compensation
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE) of $75K-$90K CAD, based on performance and commission structure
