We truly don’t give enough credit to scientists who’ve dedicated their lives to making life-changing findings that will impact society as a whole. Similar to how scientists hopped on the COVID-19 train and began developing vaccines along with needed research, modern technology has also propelled once-illegal substances like CBD.
Cannabidiol is known to produce relaxing and anti-stress effects, but more specifically, it’s dominating the medical space by offering a healthier alternative to prescriptions for several conditions. CBD would probably still be illegal if it wasn’t for technology and dedicated scientists.
Let’s face it; whenever something new comes out (e.g., COVID-19 vaccines), society relies on studies and clinical trials to examine whether it’s safe, effective, and easily accessible. And while CBD has been a staple for many cultures in traditional medicine and diets, modern society wouldn’t be as open to accepting it without peer-reviewed clinical research that puts us at ease.

In fact, recent research suggests that cannabinoids like CBD can prevent and treat COVID-19. However, the researchers note that this wouldn’t work by simply smoking on the green but administering isolated cannabinoids through oral extracts, which could prevent and treat the virus.
Other research has shown that CBD is safe and highly effective in other mammals like dogs. Because mammals have a similar genetic makeup to humans in terms of bodily and brain functions, this allows mammals to have positive reactions to cannabinoids like CBD. What’s pretty surprising is how reports state that dogs actually have more endocannabinoid receptors than humans, so maybe CBD might be of more use to K9s than us.

Finally, let’s get back to the source, the beloved hemp farms around the world. Modern agriculture technology has been at the forefront of our industry since the United States’ 2018 Farm Bill legalizing hemp with traces of THC. Farming and cultivation technology has allowed skilled growers to produce large-scale grow-ops for both hemp and cannabis plants. Because of this, it’s become incredibly easy to start your own cultivation facility, get licensed, and sell your flower to distributors.
If it weren’t for technology, who knows where we’d be, not just in terms of cannabis, but society as a whole. We encourage you to continue seeking knowledge about our industry with help from the ample research and findings that dedicated scientists continue to bring to light. Without them, our evolved world would only be a sliver of what it is today.
