I felt like it was time to upgrade from my 8" borosilicate mini bong (a perfectly acceptable and versatile instrument) to something more robust. So when Tank Glass had their April sale, I purchased an Original Tank Beaker. The Original tank is a very serious piece of glass. The glass is so thick and the joints are so well finished, you will wonder if, perhaps, the piece is over-engineered. I can imagine it would be challenging to break this bong, but I'm not interested in gambling on the life of my new best friend. :) My Original Tank measures 13" tall and has a 5" diameter base. So if you are using the included, party-sized, glass bowl, be prepared for large lungfuls of smoke. If you are not sure your lungs are up to the challenge, go for the Tank mini. The ice break works really well. I use a silicone mold to make 4" long ice cubes that fit nicely and really bring the finished temperature of the smoke down to an enjoyable level. My overall impression of the Original Tank is that the value is in the craftsmanship. If you are comfortable spending a little extra for something of extraordinarily high quality, then you will be happy buying a Tank.

I gotta say, as a first timer, I heard alot from friends about Tank Glass. The 12 inch unit is perfect and has ripped like a train from day one. Build quality is top tier, and the free stem and bowl that comes with it work great. I'll definitely be buying an 18 incher to pair with this one!

Recently I decided to buy my first bong. I couldn’t be happier with my choice. This thing really is a TANK. It’s heavy, has an excellent grip, I love the ice catcher. I got mine with the metal bowl piece and stem, and my goodness does this thing hit smooth. No brainer, especially with the lifetime warranty! The first bong I ever bought, will be my last. Thing is killer.

A perfect take on a classic design. Rips like a champ and I have peace of mind knowing I got that tank glass durability!
