On December 17, 2021, Marvel lovers are about to see a new and improved Spider-Man. For the first time in the franchise’s cinematic history, the famous neighborhood superhero will finally be unmasked and won’t separate his everyday life from his superhero side.
Come December, viewers will see Spider-Man ask Doctor Strange for help when he’s surrounded by more danger and chaos than ever before. On his journey, Peter Parker will experience a grueling process to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man. In one of the most famous memes on the internet, Spider-Man faces off against himself in various hilarious contexts.
But did you know where the meme originated? It stretches back to the 1960s when the animated series officially aired. In the episode where the meme came from, Spider-Man is battling a villain who can impersonate anyone. The villain, Charles Cameo, later impersonates Spider-Man, J. Jonah Jameson, and Peter Parker too.
When the episode moves into a heist scene, Spider-Man faces off against Cameo, and they begin pointing at each other, and this is where all the laughs were born. The film picks up after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, released in 2019, which ended with everyone learning the secret identity of Spider-Man and that he was framed by the villain for murder.
No Way Home shows Spider-Man asking Doctor Strange to cast a spell to make the world forget his secret identity, only to see things go wrong as it opens a door to a multiverse with all of Spider-Man’s past villains.
Needless to say, we can’t wait for December.
