The king of narration, Morgan Freeman is famous for his comforting and commanding voice. But did you know that he’s also a massive supporter of marijuana? Here are five of his epic supportive statements that show his love of cannabis. We dare you to try not to read this in his voice.

1. “Never give up the ganja”

In an interview with The Guardian, Freeman stated he may have given up hard drugs but still enjoyed using marijuana. When asked if he still smoked a lot, he simply replied, “No. I don’t smoke a lot,” his eyes widened. “Never give up the ganja.”

Freeman also compares cannabis to a religious experience. He’s called cannabis “God’s own weed,” explaining how Moses’ encounter with the “burning bush” was an early Biblical reference to the spiritual benefits of cannabis use.

In response to the laws against marijuana reform, Freeman has said, “It’s just the stupidest law possible…you’re just making criminals out of people who aren’t engaged in criminal activity. And we’re spending zillions of dollars trying to fight a war we can’t win! We could make zillions, just legalize it and tax it like we do liquor. It’s stupid.”

During press tour for his film Transcendence, one reporter was blown away with Freeman’s energy to do so many projects. Freeman tried to deflect the attention, but after the reporter insisted it was impressive, Freeman laughed and replied, “Well, if you smoke enough marijuana, you’re good.”
