Looking to puff on the latest Emerald Cup champions? You've come to the right place.
The Emerald Cup is basically the Academy Awards for the cannabis industry. But it wasn’t always this way. Just 20 years ago, it was a friendly competition between Mendocino County farmers. Now, it’s become one of the industry’s most prestigious award ceremonies.
Winning an Emerald Cup award is huge. Not only is it the ultimate validation of a cultivator’s craft, but it’s proof that your flower is ranked among the finest weed worldwide.
That said, finding these award-winning strains can be challenging. Most dispensaries don’t carry them; when they do, they can go for a pretty penny. That’s where FLOWGARDENS comes in.
This indoor cultivation facility in East Tennessee takes immense pride in cultivating champions. Led by master grower Erich Maelzer, who brings over 25 years of experience, FLOWGARDENS dominated the 2024 Emerald Cup with not one, not two, but three winning strains.

This dank strain took home 3rd place at the Emerald Cup 2024. While Blue Cheese remains one of the most unique strains I’ve ever tried, Blueberry Cough Drops is a close runner-up.
It’s from FLOWGARDENS’ Blue Cheese lineage, and it’s just as dense and sticky as their Blue Cheese A3 pheno. The only difference? This strain is packed with CBD for a well-rounded experience and a soothing entourage effect.
Its aromas offer notes of blueberries and ripe cherries, and its Indica-dominant nature is perfect for kicking stress to the curb.
Personally, as someone who’s been waiting for FLOWGARDENS to restock their top-selling flower, I’m thrilled to announce that it’s finally back on the shelves. I’ve grabbed my order. Here’s why you should too:
B.O.B. (Body Odor Berries) won 2nd place at the Emerald Cup 2024. It’s a cross between AC/DC and Powerberry pheno from Hoku Seed Company, and FLOWGARDENS says it’s the most pungent flower they’ve ever grown. They describe it as a “room-filling funk” paired with heavy citrus notes.
Being quite balanced in THC:CBD, this Type 2 flower offers uplifting, long-lasting effects that lean towards the Sativa side. If you’re after a truly fulfilling smoke, this is it.
No shade to the other strains, but we definitely saved the best for last. Butter Berry won 1st place at the Emerald Cup 2024 for its generous cannabinoid and terpene content.
It’s a balanced hybrid strain made by Floyd at Hoku Seed Co., and not to my surprise, it’s also their founder’s favorite strain. This flower is also Type 2, blessing the user with equal amounts of THC and CBD for a clear-headed, energizing, Sativa-leaning high.
In total, this strain weighs in with 25% total cannabinoids and 2.4% terpenes, with over 1% linalool and over 0.6% limonene. Try it yourself and see why this strain took home the champion title.
