What's funnier than stressing out a scammer?
The Twitch and YouTube star Kitboga is known around the community as the guy who makes the most out of dingy tech support scams. With his aviator sunglasses, wigs, and voice alteration, Kitboga creates made-up characters to voice the victims of each call.
Kitboga is on a mission to waste the time and resources of call operators who participate in what’s popularly known as scambaiting. Instead of using more disruptive tactics and hacking into the scammer’s computer, Kitboga uses a more innocent approach with comedic relief.
These instances have still resulted in some dangerous warnings, “I’ve had reactions ranging from laughter to shock to death threats,” Kitboga told Newsweek.

The reasons behind his endeavors stem from a personal place. “My grandparents got taken advantage of as they got older, trusting just about anyone who called,” Kitboga mentioned. “I was compelled to do something, even though some consider it small. I started researching these scams and calling them up to waste their time.”
Kitboga stated that his “favorite reactions are when the scammer begins to get angry at the character but then opens up and talks to my real voice at the end.”

“One of the most shocking experiences was when a scammer claimed to be me when he thought he was talking to my bank. I had a friend join the call and pretend to be my banker who was going to verify the charges on the fake credit card I gave him. He began yelling: ‘Mr. Banker, this man is a fraud! It’s me, Mr. Banker, approve the charges now!'”
He also gave us a few words of advice when fighting scams, “One thing I’ve learned that I think is important for everyone to know is how much these scammers hate when you ask questions.” So take a few tips from Kitboga and get the most out of your next scam attempt.
