Best Sandwiches In Denver To Satisfy Your Munchies

Colorado knows their sammies.

Bulking season is here, and there’s no better way to beef up than with the many sandwich joints around Colorado, serving the best and most sought-after creations. Many chefs at these restaurants have studied overseas and are eager to transport their guest’s pallettes to places they’ve never been.

Whether you’re looking for something more authentic or a refreshing take on classics, there’s something for everyone to enjoy within the list of shops below. If you’re a local or new to the city of Denver, we’re happy to help subside your hunger with our favorite sandwich picks. Without further ado, here’s a list of our top five sandwich spots in Denver.

Snarf's Sandwiches

Snarf’s menu allows you to build your own sandwiches while also serving deli standers like roast beef, provolone, and meatball parmesan. One of the most popular selections is the Italian, piled with salami, pepperoni, capicola, mortadella, provolone, and all the savory fixings. They also have a “Not On The Menu” list of inventive sandwiches like the Farmer with turkey, egg salad, and crispy bacon.

The Spicy Pickle

Last year, the Spicy Pickle saw its revival and welcomed the downtown core with open arms for lunch and dinner. This sandwich joint offers many salads, sandwiches, and paninis like the vegetarian Bastille with roasted portobello mushrooms, red peppers, mozzarella, red onion, tomato, spinach, and sun-dried tomato mayo on soft focaccia.

Il Porcellino Salumi

Il Porcellino Salumi is a true Berkeley treasure; they source their meat from heritage local breeds and cure on their own. A fan favorite is the bison meatball featuring caramelized fennel and onion, San Marzano tomato sauce, and provolone on a hoagie roll. They also have a retail side that allows customers to buy cuts and take them home.

Vinh Xuong Bakery

Vinh Xuong’s banh mi sandwiches have a massive following and their newest location recently opened in Zeppelin Station, which is another reason why it’s become so renowned. Their most-ordered creation is the Crusty French bread stuffed with BBQ pork then topped with housemade mayo, pickled carrots, daikon radish, cucumber, jalapeño, and cilantro.

Vert Deli

Vert Deli’s kitchen chef and owner Noah Stevens makes the experience all the more authentic by executing what he learned in Parisian kitchens to this Denver-based sandwich shop. He offers a refreshing and revitalized take on classics like the curry chicken sandwich, made with apple, avocado, currants, and cashew tarragon pesto.
