Here's my review of the Platinum THCA Flower line from Bloomz.
Before diving into specifics, let me say this upfront: Bloomz Hemp is undoubtedly one of the more popular THCa hemp flower options on the market. It just takes a Google search.
But that had me thinking, what are the reviews not saying? After an evening of getting to know the Papaya Power strain from Bloomz’s Platinum Line THCa Flower, I was impressed by several key elements a seasoned user should look out for.
But is it perfect? Not quite. Let’s break it down.
Bloomz’s selection of THCa hemp flower is pretty broad. Two products immediately stood out to me: Snow Caps, a legal version of moonrocks for high-tolerance users, and Platinum Line THCa Flower.
The Snow Caps are covered in pure THCa isolate so naturally I wanted to try them because I prefer heavier-hitting flower, especially if it’s THCa flower.
THCa naturally converts to a slightly less potent Delta-9 THC when heated, but the conversion process results in ~87.7% of THC, which means ~12.3% gets lost. So many users like myself will aim for higher THCa levels (30% or more) when buying THCa flower compared to buying regular Delta-9 THC flower to get a similar high.
But Bloomz’s claims that their Platinum Line THCa Flower is from “AAA Exotic” strains sourced from the “best nugs and small batches available anywhere.” With a statement like that, you already know we had to do some fact-checking.
See my full Bloomz Hemp review on their Platinum Line THCa flower, “AAA Exotic strains” below.
According to the lab results on Bloomz’s website, this Papaya Power strain has a 40% THCA content, which is way higher than most THCA flower you’ll find today.
On average, about 87.7% of the original THCa becomes usable Delta-9 THC. So, for Bloomz’s Papaya Power strain testing at 40% THCa, you can expect around 35% Delta-9 THC after heating.
The dominant terpenes are myrcene, limonene, and caryophyllene, which are common ones you’d find in a lot of cannabis strains. Although Bloomz’s site didn’t specifically give specific strain breakdowns—and I had to do my own research—I was pretty intrigued about what the general public had to say about the potent Papaya Power.
The weed community definitely considers this strain exotic, thanks to its powerful effects strength, and sweet, tropical flavors (which I’ll get to below). It was nice to confirm that Bloomz wasn’t just tossing the word around.
Herb
USPS dropped off my package about 5 days after I ordered it. Being an East Coaster, that’s exactly what Bloomz outlined in their shipping policies. No complaints there.
The package didn’t dank until I went a few layers deep and unveiled the incredibly pungent aroma of what was inside my 3.5g. It honestly stunk up my entire room (which I’m also not complaining about).
Papaya Power looked dense with forest-green nugs and hues of gold throughout, not to mention vibrant orange hairs with a thick coating of trichomes. The cure was excellent—not too dry, not too sticky, and grinding it was pretty smooth.
Here’s where things didn’t go quite as planned.
I was told this would be the best-tasting nugs I’ve ever tried, “bursting with rich flavors and a sweet tropical essence” which I can confirm is about half true.
Personally, I could pick up more lemon and citrus than I could papaya, likely because this strain is loaded with the terpene limonene. Online reviews said it would be a “tropical fruit medley with distinct papaya and citrus notes, backed by a subtle earthiness.”
The citrus was there, and so was the earthiness, but I also found it had a strong gassy flavor that wasn’t mentioned.
Herb
Bloomz Hemp pre-rolls are available, but I opted to grind the flower myself—the OG way to do it.
I honestly loved the texture and burn of this flower. It was cured to perfection, and it was perfectly sticky without flaking off too much shake or dry bits. That definitely translated into the smoking experience.
It burned evenly with a clean white ash, and the smoke was surprisingly smooth for such high potency. Did I cough? Absolutely, but with none of that harshness sometimes associated with high-THCa or THC flower.
A slight negative: it burned a bit faster than I’d prefer. You might go through your stash quicker than expected.
I’m not surprised that I had a damn good time smoking this platinum strain.
It started with a tingling sensation that spread throughout the body, thanks to its 70% Indica genetics. But that 30% Sativa still had me mentally stimulated enough to continue my RHONY binge (if you know, you know).
Ultimately, Papaya Power delivered powerful body effects while maintaining decent mental clarity. I’d honestly compare it to a high-potency of regular Delta-9 THC cannabis strains. The experience was practically the same.
Potency aside, the effects lasted about 3 hours, with the peak hitting around the 45-minute mark.
At $49.99 for 3.5g (depending on sales and any coupon discount codes you might find), Bloomz exotic AAA hemp flower definitely sits in the premium price range. Is it worth your money? If you’re main concerns are potency and quality, then yes.
I genuinely had a great time with Papaya Power, though there are about 11 other strains available. This particular strain smelled treated and tasted delicious, although the specific strain effects, flavors, and terpenes could have been advertised a bit better. The flavors were pretty different than what I expected from online reviews.
Still, the effects, presentation, and overall experience justified the cost for me. But if you’re on a tight budget, maybe it’s best to leave platinum strains on the shelf.
I didn’t have too many negatives overall when it comes to their Exotic AAA Flower and platinum strain Papaya Power. Yes, a $49.99 USD purchase dents the bank account, but it was pretty worth it. Also, there could be more specific information about the available strains, but it still delivered the potency and experience I was hoping for.
One thing to note: When buying THCa hemp flower online, it’s crucial to be aware of your local and state laws. Some places have outright banned THCa flower. But in most cases, you should be in the clear. Buying flowers online means you’re taking full responsibility for any potential hurdles with the law.
If you decide to try Bloomz, I’d recommend starting with their smallest quantity to test the waters before diving into higher quantities like 7g and 28g. Remember—over 30% THCa is considered highly potent flower, and it’s crucial to know what you’re getting into.
The bottom line: I did note a few minor drawbacks around flavor, longevity, and burn rate, but Bloomz’s AAA Exotic line deserves its time in the spotlight. Whether you’re looking for something that actually slaps or you simply want to connect with a powerful body buzz, Bloomz left this customer satisfied.
