This new technology might just be the future of cannabis vaping.
For years, we cannabis users have looked to combustion as our main source of consumption. Sparking a joint, hitting a bowl—these rituals are deeply embedded in the culture we know and love.
But with all the new technology on the market, it might be time to change how we enjoy our favorite flower (and concentrates). We’ve heard some buzz around a new vaporizer that’s taking the California market by storm—the Odin device by E10 Labs.
You might remember them better as E1011 Labs. E10 labs have been delivering cannabis solutions for around six years, but their new brand identity leans towards flame-free vaporizer technology.
But what exactly does flame-free (also known as heat-not-burn) mean and what should you expect when making the switch from smoking to vaping?
Here’s a deep dive into our recent experience with the Odin device and why heat-not-burn technology might just be the future of cannabis flower consumption.

When you think about how cannabis is mainly consumed, heat-not-burn technology becomes pretty self-explanatory.
Smoking requires combustion, which literally scorches your herbs and instantly breaks down cannabinoids and terpenes in the process. While it’s arguably the fastest way to catch a buzz, it’s not exactly the most efficient.
That’s because the combustion happens around 900°F, which can:
On the other hand, devices like the Odin have introduced a whole new way to consume cannabis. It’s better than smoking from every angle.
This vaporizer heats your herb or concentrate with a hybrid system of convection and conduction heating. At a temperature range of 446°F – to 581°F, your herb will never be scorched.
At these temperatures, you get:
The difference doesn’t just come down to health. Vaping dry herbs and concentrates often delivers a more authentic expression of your favorite strains than burning them to ashes.
And with heat-resistant materials, there’s no need to worry about harmful contaminants leaching into your vapor or your device degrading over time.
You might have heard of dual-use devices—vaporizers that function with both dry herbs and concentrates. That’s exactly what the Odin is, except for one major difference.
Instead of packing and loading your own material, E10 Labs does the grunt work for you. The Odin is compatible with their pre-dose pairings in dry-herb-filled Nano Joints and concentrate-packed Dab Sticks.
In all honesty, it might be the most convenient dual-use vaporizer we’ve tested.

The Odin fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. It’s 4.27 inches in length, available in Electric Lilac and Electric Black, and features a sleek yet durable Aluminum finish with a push-button design.
You’ll also notice 3 lights on its front, which indicate the device’s temperature levels of your choice. From the jump, getting to know the Odin is super easy—especially if you’re familiar with the usual functions of vaporizers.
Even for beginners, this one’s straightforward enough to make the perfect starting point.

Here’s the thing that stood out most about the Odin: ABH technology. This stands for Air-Based Heating. Unlike traditional conduction heating, ABH offers a far more efficient and enjoyable way to experience your chosen strains. Here’s how it works:
Conduction Heating: Heats your material through direct contact with heat.
Convection Heating: Blows hot air on your material.
Air-Based Heating: Creates a controlled environment that surrounds your material with precisely temperature-controlled air.
Vapes with ABH heating are often seen as more on the side of cutting edge cannabis hardware. It’s more reliable than standard convection or conduction heating for a few reasons:
In my personal experience with dual-use vaporizers, the first hit is often weak, while the last hit packs a punch. The Odin’s air-based heating was a nice surprise, delivering pretty consistent draws between their Nano Joints and Dab Sticks—from the first hit to the last.

With three temperature levels and voltage between 3.7v-4.2v, this device makes session customization effortless:
To change up your session length, turn off the device. Then, press the power button 5 times quickly for session duration adjustment. The bottom LED light will be for different modes:

My absolute favorite part about the Odin, besides its air-based heating technology, is how easy it is to switch between flower and concentrates.
Before dual-use, I would use a dry herb vaporizer for my bud and a concentrate vape for my wax dabs. Switching back and forth doesn’t seem like the world’s biggest issue, but it definitely takes time and feels more inconvenient in the moment.
E10 labs pre-dosed pairing offerings deliver precisely-filled Nano Joints loaded with high-quality flower in the strain of your choice, alongside Dab Sticks in the ultra-flavorful concentrate rosin.
We’ve heard through the grapevine that E10 Labs will soon expand with more concentrate offerings, including badder, shatter, budder, and more, coming soon to California.
What’s nice is how the Odin performs exceptionally well with both methods, unlike other dual-use devices that often favor one or the other.
The vapor from the Odin Nano Joints was incredibly smooth, delivering the perfect balance of calm, euphoria, and elevation I look for in a dry herb vaporizer. The clouds were thick, and every hit was effortlessly smooth. I noticed the first couple of draws were milder, with the intensity building in the following hits. Quickie Sesh was ideal for a quick pre-dinner toke, while Full Sesh mode hit like a dream before bed.

I’m so thankful there’s no more scary torch setup with the Odin. The device is perfect for beginner concentrate users like me who don’t want to deal with sticky, intimidating tools. This pocket-sized dual-vape offers a rich, true-to-plant buzz with maximum flavor from E10 Labs’ quality rosin. Dabbing on the go just got better (and way easier).

When we said the Odin is a pocket-sized powerhouse, we meant it. This baby holds a powerful 2000mAh battery with fast USB-C charging. To check your device’s battery level, press the power button once:
The user interface is refreshingly simple—no confusing button combinations or hidden menus. Just one button, three lights, and the pre-dosed pairing of your choice.

I’ve spent quite some time with my new friend, Odin. After getting to know its ins and outs, here are my honest thoughts on who could benefit most from E10 Labs’ flagship device:
Health-Conscious Consumers
Switching from smoking to vaping, especially devices with controlled air-based heating, can seriously benefit users who prefer to steer clear of the harmful byproducts produced from combustion.
Flavor Chasers
Since combustion can destroy terpenes and often mask them with a gassy flavor, vaporizers like Odin use ABH technology to heat-not-burn your material, delivering its full terpene profile and intended experience. If you’re a flavor chaser, you’ll appreciate the nuances of the Odin.
On-The-Go Users
Catching a buzz on the go? What about dabbers who prefer a heavy hit? Odin was built for both—the ease and convenience of portability paired with the power of a 2000mah battery capacity and ABH technology.
Dual-Users
Enjoy both flower and concentrates? The Odin lets you switch effortlessly between the two, offering a sleek, all-in-one solution without needing multiple devices.

As heat-not-burn technology continues to gain traction, E10 Labs is leading the charge. Their Odin device is undoubtedly making cannabis consumption simpler and more efficient for flower lovers and dabbers alike.
