Netflix recently announced that the hit series Tiger King is making a comeback with Tiger King 2. However, it’s not said which characters and personalities will return for the show’s second season.

The first series, “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness,” told the in-depth story throughout seven episodes. The second season was filmed in 2020 and part of 2021.

The story of Joe Exotic or Joseph Maldonado-Passage was told by directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin, featuring the tales of a tiger-keeper alongside other lions and big cats in Oklahoma.

Throughout the series, directors also explored a murder-for-hire scheme against Carole Baskin, owner of Big Cat Rescue, who attempted to close facilities similar to the one Exotic managed. Thanks to her the lump sum of cash inherited through her husband’s death, Baskin was able to finance her struggle while questions were raised surrounding her husband’s mysterious disappearance.

In early 2020, Joe Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for trying to hire two men to kill Baskin. This past July, a federal appeals court ruled to shorten his prison sentence.
