THCV is a new and cutting-edge hemp-derived cannabinoid, somewhat similar to its cousin, THC, and its long-lost friend, CBD.
However, THCV carries psychoactive effects and euphoric sensations often linked to regular THC, and it’s also known to suppress nausea, anxiety, and stress while not making you too hungry as THC does. In addition, it’s known to be a “super Sativa” to help users focus without being too lifted to finish their tasks.
Some of our favorite THCV products are from Binoid, who’s made it easy for us by creating an entire collection of products containing THCV. We love the Candyland THCV + Delta 8 THC Vape Cartridge, as well as the Sour Tangie THCV + Delta 8 THC Vape Cartridge.

The main distinctions between THCV and THC are the chemical differences. To put it as simply as possible, THC carries five side-chain carbon atoms in each molecule, whereas THCV only carries three.
One of the most noticeable and apparent differences between these two cannabinoids is their effects. THC is known to leave you hungry, scavenging through any food in sight, but THCV, on the other hand, can suppress the appetite. This makes it helpful for those who are practicing intermittent fasting or who want to watch their portions.
The third and final difference between THCV and THC is that the newcomer offers less of a psychoactive effect on the user. That said, THCV can be made with plants other than cannabis, so you can experience the impact without getting a psychoactive high. In addition, those who use THCV are often more alert and aware than those using THC.

Users who indulge in THCV products often feel clear-headed and lifted without craving any sweet treats or snacks due to the cannabinoid’s influence on appetite suppression.
When derived from a plant that’s not cannabis, it can give the same sensations and medical benefits without feeling high or stoned.

Although research is still somewhat limited, here are some benefits when using THCV:

THCV is not federally illegal and seems to coincide with the 2018 Farm Bill that legalized all hemp derivatives containing equal or less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.
That said, numerous states have taken it upon themselves to prohibit the use of THCV.
Here is a complete list of states where THCV is legal: Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
There are surprisingly fewer states where THCV is illegal than legal. But what’s even more interesting is how some of these states were trailblazing leaders in terms of recreational cannabis, like Colorado.
Here is a complete list of states where THCV is illegal: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, New York, Rhode Island, Utah, and Vermont.
