Elon Musk was the recent guest of interest on the CBS program 60 Minutes, where the billionaire tech entrepreneur spoke with host Lesley Stahl about his life over the past year, which he deemed the “most painful” of his career.
Other topics discussed in the interview included the health of his most renowned company, Tesla, his bizarre behavior on Twitter, and, of course, his brief affair with cannabis.
The 47-year-old ex-Tesla chairman clarified that he does not smoke anything, including cannabis. He went as far to say that he doesn’t even know how to inhale properly.
“I do not smoke pot. As anyone who watched that podcast could tell, I have no idea how to smoke pot,” Musk told Stahl, “Or anything. I don’t know how to smoke anything, honestly.”
The incident in question happened in September on The Joe Rogan Experience, where Musk appeared as a guest. Host Joe Rogan lit up a blunt during the episode and offered it to Musk, who took an amateur hit before passing it back. It earned Joe Rogan the most watched video podcast on his channel, which is steadily climbing to 18 million YouTube views.
The blunt-stunt would bring on more headaches for Musk. Shortly before appearing on the podcast, Musk sent out an ambiguous tweet saying that he would take Tesla private and raise the company stock to $420 a share, which rubbed the Security and Exchange Commision the wrong way.
Tesla’s stock took a severe hit after the podcast appearance, which eventually caused him to step down as chairman of the company.
NASA performed a safety review of Musk’s company, SpaceX, who cited concerns with the company’s culture following the podcast.
The podcast shows the South-African native taking only one hit of the blunt and–to the naked eye–not inhaling it fully.
Elon Musk’s interview on 60 Minutes might be more significant than it seems, as it could mark the official end of the all-too-brief Musk/Weed saga; but then again, who knows what the future has in store?
