Experience Cannabis Wellness Done Right At Asia’s First Infused Retreat

AyurCann's distinct packages are meant to treat those with pain, stress, and sleep issues, all with the healing properties of cannabis.

Ayurveda is a traditional Indian medicinal system that quite literally translates to “knowledge of life.” By using natural medicines like cannabis properties, patients are given the green light to consume it and implement it into their daily routines, which you can learn more about at Asia’s first Ayurvedic cannabis wellness retreat.

In Kerala, India, guests can make the most of modern wellness tourism at the AyurCann’s retreat from Bombay Hemp Company (Boheco) along with the Poonthottam Ayurvedasram retreat. Here, you can experience spa massages, infused eats, yoga and mindfulness sessions, tantric psychology, lifestyle/diet planning, cannabis counseling, and much more, reports CNN Traveller.

All dishes like salads and stir-fries will come infused with a generous amount of hemp seeds, oil, and powder. It will also be used to steam traditional foods like idlis and dosas.

The retreat really thought of everything in terms of merging cannabis into a guest’s lifestyle, as they also included hemp toiletries to keep you educated on how the plant can be used.

All cannabis leaf extracts used as medicine on the retreat are sourced from Boheco’s research and manufacturing base in India. With help from therapists from the Poonthottam Ayurvedasram, guests will be prescribed their required dose.

Roughly 200 different plants make up the retreat grounds, paying homage to the term ‘Poonthottam,’ which, according to sources, translates to ‘flower garden’ in Malayalam.

There are currently three packages for guests to choose from; Avyatha for pain management, Mukta for stress management, and Nidra for sleep wellness. The packages are available for 14 to 21 nights, and the starting rate is Rs86,592.

Per CNN Traveller, it gave us the rundown on what to expect within the pain management program as an example, which includes the following;

  • Abhyanga massage
  • Medicated body treatments like Patra pinda sveda and enema
  • Personalized yoga sessions
  • A specialized diet plan with hemp products and diet counseling
  • An introductory session about the medical effects of cannabis.

Boheco wrote in an email interview to the Conde Nast Traveller that “The Himalayan Hemp Nutrition range is rich in its nutritional profile and is a great source of protein, omegas, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, to name a few.”

The company then expanded on how “full-spectrum cannabis leaf extract range is a therapeutic/medical range that is rich in its cannabinoid profile which includes CBD and THC but is not limited to it,” explaining that these many cannabinoids can help with pain, stress, and sleep.
