Guide To Desert X Art Exhibition In Coachella Valley CA

What is Desert X? Read up on the unique art and culture organization here.

At any Desert X exhibition, prepare to be wowed. This organization bridges the gap between culture, the environment, and contemporary art by bringing it to specific desert locations for different exhibitions featuring artists worldwide.

Desert X hopes their initiatives will start conversations about understanding cultures and communities and their historical societal issues by providing the landscape for worldwide artists to express themselves and truly reflect their roots. Desert X was produced by non-profit The Desert Biennial in California; its latest exhibition lands on a site many Californians know all too well.

On March 4 – May 7, 2023, Dessert X will open its fourth edition in Coachella Valley, and we highly encourage you to mark your calendars for the refreshing and conversation-starter event. Past exhibitions here have grabbed the attention of more than 1.25 million people and received vast acclaim for the initiatives to bridge the gap between contemporary art representing different cultures and the environment in which we must cherish.

If you’d like to see an example of how Desert X implements their exhibitions and the artists at hand, click here for an in-depth documentary and see just what the organization stands for and how it’s put into action.

Newly elected board members Diana Campbell, Jarvis Crawford, Nicholas Galanin, and Bill Sanchez will co-curate the 2023 Desert X Coachella Valley Exhibition to represent the organization’s evolving, dynamic, and diverse ways.

Out of pure and utter respect for Indigenous communities, Desert X makes clear that they completely acknowledge the Cahuilla People as the original residents of the land the organization uses for its exhibitions.

If you’re looking to get to know Desert X a bit more, visit one of their exhibitions found here, and if you’re from out of town, the organization shared a couple of beautiful hotels to stay at when visiting its exhibitions, found here. For now, check out the Desert X documentary and wait for its fourth Coachella Valley Exhibition from March to May next year.
