Mexico Approves Marijuana To Treat Child With Epilepsy Who Can Have Up To 400 Seizures A Day

8-year-old Graciela Elizalde unfortunately suffers from a very severe form of childhood-onset epilepsy. It is a very rare form of epilepsy, and she can have up to 400 seizures a day. Yes, 400 seizures a day.

After trying homeopathic and other alternative treatments and therapies rigorously, there was no success. However, a federal judge in a recent court order approved the use of a cannabis extract to help ease her symptoms. The ruling could set some precedent for medical marijuana laws within the country. Graciela’s father hopes her story and the ruling will help many other families as well.
