The latest steal in the city of Toronto is the variety of discount weed stores that have appeared over the last year. To give clients a more welcoming and familiar experience, these dispensaries all resemble the Canadian budget grocery chain No Frills.

Their name is Value Buds, and they feature a similar black and yellow color scheme to the grocery chain. Interestingly, Value Buds also offers lower prices than other mainstream stores, similar to how No Frills’ slogan is “Won’t Be Beat!”

The biggest steal you can get from Value Buds is listed for just under $10 and can range up to $40 or more with tax. Like No Frills, Value Buds also lists their competitors’ prices to compare them to their own.

Before the age of cannabis deals like Value Buds, the chain was called Nova Cannabis, the parent company for the new discount cannabis dispensary.

Chief executive officer of Nova Cannabis, Darren Karasiuk, said in an interview with blogTO, that almost all Nova dispensaries across the province of Ontario are now up and running as Value Buds to help introduce inexpensive and accessible cannabis to the public.

Value Buds has quite the history of Toronto’s cannabis industry; their parent company Nova Cannabis was one of the first official cannabis dispensaries to ever open in the city, now running as Value Buds.

After Canada’s federal legalization of weed in 2018, many storefronts like Honey Pot and Nova Cannabis took a high-end approach to sell cannabis. As a result, they were more than successful in terms of profiting off the recent law.

Value Buds caters their products and prices to those who were well-versed with cannabis long before it was legalized, allowing them to get a bang for their buck.

You won’t find any high-end iPads or clear glass counters. Instead, Value Buds offers a Deli-style counter appearance, and their weed is organized by cheapest to most expensive, helping stoners on a budget find exactly what they’re looking for.
