Public support for legalization is strong if tax revenue is put towards education. Though there isn't currently a strong movement, a vote on legalization will likely take place in the next 2 years.

  • California

    By The Stoner's Cookbook

California was the first state to decriminalize marijuana (since 1996), and is home to the first dispensary. Although initiatives to legalize have failed in the past, there is tremendous support.

  • Alaska

    By The Stoner's Cookbook

Alaska has decriminalized medical use of marijuana since 2007, and possession of up to 4 ounces of marijuana in private is already legal. A ballot in November will likely legalize this northern state.

Medical marijuana has been decriminalized since 2008, & in 2012, a legalization vote fell short by just 4%. 57% of voters now support recreational marijuana use, making legalization very likely.

  • New York

    By The Stoner's Cookbook

New York is the latest state to pass legislation to support medical marijuana, with much of the state supporting the decision. Though there is no ballot scheduled, the movement is gaining momentum.

  • Florida
