Do you like scary movies? “Scream” superfans are in for a treat; the movie’s original house where Ghostface was first defeated is now an official listing on Airbnb.
To create a more authentic event, Airbnb renovated the original house in Northern California to resemble its exact layout in the 1996 film. One minor touch that wasn’t in the movie is Ghostface’s creepy stare in the stained glass window to greet guests with a thrill.
Upon arrival, guests will be virtually welcomed by Sheriff Dewey Riley, played by David Arquette. According to Airbnb, they can choose to play a marathon of all four “Scream” films on VHS or even call Ghostface himself to ask any questions or make special requests. That is, if Ghostface doesn’t call them first, which visitors should expect.
It’s rather tricky to land a night at the “Scream” house; it’s quite the hot commodity. The home will welcome guests for three one-night stays during the last week of October. Booking became available yesterday on Airbnb, so snag a night at the house while you still can.
The entire experience was organized to celebrate the original “Scream” film’s 25th anniversary in December. Until then, the house’s next victims, or lucky guests perhaps, will arrive at the home and be taken under the wing of a socially distant concierge thanks to Airbnb.
