A pipe with a removable lid that covers its bowl? Two, please.

Some tools are just better designed for concealing the smell of weed. And the Top Secret Stealth Genius Pipe is one of those. This pipe truly masks that notorious dank smell that comes from a used pipe, since the lid seals the bowl perfectly, not allowing any odor to escape.

This is so ideal for keeping your pipe out in the open without having to worry about your place smelling like a grow-up.

How To Hide Weed Smell Inside

After A Bathroom Quickie

We’ve all had that moment when we overestimated just how powerful that bathroom fan really is.

Smoking weed in the bathroom is a go-to for those of us looking for a quick indoor sesh. But let’s be honest, is that tiny fan really hiding anything?

On its own, probably not.

If you’re lighting up in the bathroom, here are some extra steps to help cover your tracks:

  1. Turn fan on (obviously)
  2. Open any windows
  3. Place a slightly damp towel under the door to block the gap so that less smoke escapes
  4. Run a hot shower; the steam can help reduce how much smoke lingers in the air
  5. Light a candle; when you’re done smoking, blow the candle out, which will help fill up the air with that burnt-out-candle scent

How To Get Rid Of The Smell Of Weed In A Room

1. Fabric Care

Weed smoke clings to fabric, so make sure to wash anything that can absorb odors. Curtains, bedding, and furniture covers should be cleaned regularly to prevent that stale smoke smell from sticking around.

Don’t forget about your carpets and upholstery. Use a vacuum cleaner or carpet washer (if you’re really committed) to remove lingering odors, since these materials can trap smoke particles pretty well.

For stubborn odors, sprinkle baking soda on carpets or sofas, let it sit for about 30 minutes, then vacuum it up. Baking soda is great for absorbing smoke smells and freshening up your space.

2. Scent Masking

Air fresheners can help a bit, but they only do so much when it comes to masking the smell of weed. For something more effective, there are specialized sprays made specifically to deal with cannabis odors.

Products like Veil OG are great for this. Just a few sprays around the room can make a big difference. Their formula uses essential oils and other ingredients that trap weed smoke particles and replace them with a much more pleasant aroma.

For long-term odor control, keep bowls of baking soda around your space, which will help neutralize most smells in your space, including weed.

Best Essential Oil To Cover Weed Smell

Essential oils are a great natural option to help mask the smell of cannabis, and they straight-up smell delicious.

Some oils are stronger than others and will actually help to neutralize the weed aroma that inevitably finds itself into the air after a smoke or edible-making session.

The best essential oils to hide the smell of weed include:

  • Lavender
  • Eucalyptus
  • Peppermint
  • Lemongrass
  • Tea Tree
  • Rosemary
  • Orange or Lemon
  • Cedarwood

And combining some or several of these oils together will give you a really strong concoction bound to take the whispers of weed away.

Store Your Stash Right

Those Ziploc bags aren’t doing your stash any justice.

The right weed storage container can make a huge difference in hiding the smell of weed, and keeps your stash fresher for longer (win-win scenario).

There are many solid, smell-proof container options, and we’ve already curated the Herb guide for them.

A less conventional option that many don’t know about are those airtight plastic cases that many camping equipment stores carry. These are meant to keep goods and small electronics on canoe or kayaking trips safe, but they work insanely well for keeping your stash under wraps.

How To Get Weed Smell Out Of Car

Hotboxing your car might seem like a good idea—until you open the door the next day, and it smells like a skunk lived (and died) in the driver’s seat.

And trust us, you’ll want to air that baby out in the slim chance you get pulled over.

Here’s how to eliminate weed smell from cars:

  1. Febreze the car and blast the air vents. Just don’t sit in the car while doing it—step out for a few minutes and let the Febreze work its magic.
  2. Place drops of essential oils on car floor carpets (see above for the best essential oils to get rid of weed smell).
  3. Invest in some of those dangling air fresheners to keep your car smelling fresh once the Febreeze or essential oils fade away.
  4. Vacuum your car if it has carpets or fabric seats, where odors can get trapped deep down.
  5. Sprinkle baking soda along the interior to absorb any leftover odors, then vacuum it up after it sits for a bit.
  6. Take a joy ride: Roll down all the windows and take a drive to air everything out completely.

How To Get Weed Smell Out Of Clothes

One way to keep smoke off your clothes and hair is to prevent it from getting there in the first place.

If you haven’t lit up yet, consider wearing a plastic garbage bag or raincoat to keep the smoke away from your clothes.

But if you’ve already smoked and the weed smell is lingering, here are some quick ways to get rid of it:

1. Air them out: Hang your clothes outside or in a well-ventilated space if you’ve got the time and privacy. In a pinch, you could even try airing them out using a public restroom hand dryer.

2. Odor-eliminating spray: Use Febreze, perfume, or cologne to instantly neutralize or mask the smell.

3. Dryer sheets: Rub dryer sheets directly over your clothes to help mask the weed odor quickly.

4. Baking soda: If you have some privacy, take off your clothes and sprinkle baking soda all over. Let it sit for a few minutes to neutralize the smell, then shake it off.

5. Vinegar: Lightly dab vinegar on your clothes to neutralize the smell. It’s strong, and you might end up smelling like a cleaning agent, but it’s better than reeking of weed.

6. Essential oils: Dab a few drops of essential oil on a cotton ball or paper towel, then lightly tap your clothes. Be careful though, as essential oils can stain fabric.
