Left Coast Extracts Review: Hype Or The Real Deal?

We got word that there’s a West Coast weed brand popping off out East.

Since September 2024, Left Coast Extracts has been pushing their popular catalog into New York’s legal cannabis market. And now, they’re about to launch their Patented Pod & Battery System in New York on Friday, February 7, 2025.

For the sake of consumer education, we thought it was time for a head-to-toe Left Coast Extracts review. As with any weed brand we put to the test, we’ve got some questions to ask.

Is Left Coast Extracts a good brand? Are their concentrates, cartridges, vape pods, and extracts worth your time? We put them to the test, so you don’t have to.

Here are our honest opinions of Left Coast Extracts’ vape pod delivery systems and what New York consumers should expect at launch.

Veteran and women-owned, Left Coast Extracts was founded by Alexandria Kometas and Coltin Barody, with backgrounds in the U.S. Navy and presidential honor guard.

Left Coast Extracts is easily one of the well-known names across California dispensaries. They’ve got the whole vertical integration aspect going on, meaning they grow, extract, and produce everything in-house, with no middlemen. This kind of control over the final product could easily explain why so many claim Left Coast Extracts have some of the best weed in California.

Now, onto what caught our attention: Left Coast Extracts’ new vape pod system. It’s rolling out this month in New York, and obviously, we had to get our hands on it. You know, for research purposes.

The first thing I noticed upon tearing open my package like a fiend was the offensively aromatic notes of this seemingly potent cannabis extract.

Don’t get me wrong. I love all things garlic, so choosing this strain was a no-brainer. But I was shocked at how pungent the aroma was right off the bat. To my surprise, this Garlic Juice classic vape pod also has papaya genetics for a truly mouthwatering draw.

Garlic Juice is a cross between GMO X Papaya strains, delivering a 70/30 Indica-dominant hybrid with some of the most earthy garlic flavors I’ve ever tried. The accompanying notes of peppery sage and woody pine were a chef’s kiss.

There’s a slight accent of spicy diesel in there, balanced by peppery and earthy notes that create a truly intense experience. Its effects are no different.

Immediately, a wave of euphoria hit the mind, along with a deep sense of physical relaxation. It was very “Don’t worry, be happy” vibes. Honorable mention to the subtle body tingles, which made the experience even more immersive.

If anything, I would have enjoyed a little more balance between the papaya and garlic flavors. But I’m a garlic girly, so really, there are no complaints in that department.

Next on the chopping block was the legendary strain Jack Herer. This was a go-to back in my College dorm room. But now, as a dedicated vaper, I had to see if Left Coast Extracts’ Jack Herer classic vape pod lived up to it.

I personally love this Sativa-dominant strain for a refreshing daytime toke. And lucky for me, hitting this vape pod was no different. It’s made by crossing a Haze hybrid with another cross between Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk.

The aromas and flavors in this vape pod aren’t as aggressive as those of Garlic Juice but are still quite active. Opening the package comes with a generous waft of pine, wood, and spicy herbs. Hitting it is nearly the same experience on the palate.

What I really appreciated was the genuinely clear-headed buzz. Unlike ripping a fat bowl of Jack Herer cannabis flower and spinning into euphoria, this vape pod offered a gentle nudge with a comfortable onset of effects.

But once they peak, they peak. Expect a well-rounded, general feeling of full-body bliss accompanied by bursts of motivation and creativity. Some say this is the ultimate productivity strain. And with a convenient, portable vape pod, efficiency will skyrocket.

If your mouth waters at the thought of citrus-drenched cannabis extracts, you’ll drool over this Orangeade classic vape pod. I know I did.

After tearing open three classic vape pod packages, I noticed a running theme with Left Coast Extracts: maximum aromas and flavors. They’re as dank and pungent as the real strains themselves but with a stronger emphasis on their unique flavors.

This time around, notes of citrus fruits like orange and grapefruit drifted up the nose, and hitting the pod delivered similar flavors with an earthy, tangy undertone.

This zesty Hybrid strain hit in all the right places. Aside from its delightful flavors and aromas, its effects hit instantly with a full-body wave of euphoria and a stimulating, chatty, cerebral effect—thanks to its Sativa genetics.

On the other end, its Indica genetics offered the perfect amount of relaxation and stress relief after a long day. It’s the perfect representation of a Hybrid strain in a convenient, portable format.
