Movies & Munchies: The Best Shows To Watch On HBO Max Right Now

See what HBO has in store for you this month.

There’s nothing like kicking back after a long day with some potent green and a good movie. But sometimes, Netflix doesn’t cut it.

If you happen to be new to HBO, we’ve listed some of the top shows and movies for you to watch this July.

To help keep your high rolling, we’ve also included a delicious cannabis-infused cake pops recipe for you and your best buds to share.

See our top HBO picks below.

Westworld

Emerging in 2016, Westworld has become one of HBO’s hottest shows. I

t’s quite the dreamy, surreal, and trippy experience, taking place in different timelines in the future and the past.

The constant changes in timelines keep viewers on their toes, making it hard to tell where the show is going and what twists and turns might arise before then.

Chernobyl

Time and again, people tell me to watch Chernobyl. In fact, it’s one of HBO’s most streamed series ever, with a rating of over 9.

It’s a mini-series that tracks the 1986 Chernobyl disaster when a reactor exploded at the nuclear power plant.

Based on real-life events, it takes you through gripping moments of what the news doesn’t tell you and presents a different perspective you’d never imagine.

The Sopranos

You can often find me singing this show’s theme song.

Besides that and its many funny renditions, The Sopranos is a classic series for anyone who enjoys a mafia-themed thrill.

Fully submerged into the world of the mob and crime bosses, the show takes a deep look at Tony Soprano’s life, family, and struggles.

The Wire

If you haven’t watched this classic series, it’s about time you do.

Taking place in the drug scenes of Baltimore, viewers are often thrilled to experience the back-and-forth perspectives between drug dealers and authorities.

It’s remained a top pick on HBO for over a decade, and its thrilling stories never fail to excite anyone who watches.

Euphoria

You might look at Euphoria as just another teenage drama, but in reality, it’s a lot more than that.

There’s a reason why it’s one of the most streamed shows ever, and not just by teens and young women.

It takes a hard look at addiction, abuse, sexual identity, and the darkest secrets and affairs you could imagine. It’s a wildly stimulating show that never leaves you with a dull moment.

The Flight Attendant

Kayley Cuoco plays a “crazy drunk flight attendant” in this comedy-drama series, “not a murderer,” her character explains in the trailer.

When she meets a man on a plane and ends up spending the night with him, she wakes up the next day to find him dead and murdered in bed.

It’s on Kayley to find out how he was killed before the authorities pin her as the murderer.

Munchies For The Evening

When you’re binging one of the shows above, you need a quality snack to join the ride. But not just any grocery store snack, of course. You need a delicious, mouthwatering-infused recipe to keep your high rolling throughout each episode.

Instead of something sweet, let’s try something different. Below, you’ll find our easy recipe for Cannabis-Infused Cheese Stuffed Garlic Bread. Just make sure you or someone else knows how to make cannabutter

Ingredients

  • 1 crusty loaf, preferably sourdough or Vienna
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella (or other melting cheese)
  • 2 cups parmesan cheese
  • Garlic butter
  • 2/3 cup cannabutter, melted
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, minced
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons pepper

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  2. Melt the garlic butter and cannabutter in a heatproof bowl with garlic and salt. Then, stir in the parsley, rosemary, and basil.
  3. Cut the bread on the bias (diagonally) into 1-inch slices. Then, do so again at a criss-cross angle, creating a pattern of 1-inch diamonds. But do not cut all the way through (as if slicing a loaf of garlic bread).
  4. Using your fingers or a utensil, pry open each crack and drizzle in a small amount of the butter and herb mix. Then, stuff in pinches of mozzarella cheese throughout the loaf. Repeat with Parmesan, and sprinkle some over the top as well. You don’t need to be super neat—no penalty for having some of the butter and cheeses drizzled over the crust!
  5. Wrap with foil, and bake for 20 minutes. To make your Stuffed Cheesy Garlic Bread extra crusty, unwrap it for the last 5 minutes of baking. Serve, and enjoy!
