Dogs On Trial: Viral TikTok sees a woman asking her pups where the edibles went.
Since becoming normalized in states and countries where cannabis is legal, edibles have become some kind of art. From sweet brownies, gummies, and other treats to delectable cannabis-infused meals, the modern cannabis industry gives you all the tools to add THC to just about anything you wish.
It’s not just humans that gravitate to delicious edibles, but your pup might too if left unattended. One Chicago woman found that out the hard way. LaToya Brinson spoke with ZENGER about the recent viral TikTok that shows her two dogs presenting different behaviors after asking where her edibles had gone.
By “different” behaviors, you can clearly see the doggo on the right bowing his head in worry, disappointment, and maybe marijuana-induced paranoia. But when mom asks the question, “Has anybody seen my edibles that were in my purse on the island?” it looks like the THC might have kicked in for the dog on the left, happily wagging his tail with a hilariously stoned grin.
After looking at the video, which pup do you think feasted on mom’s edibles? It turns out just like humans present different reactions and effects of marijuana use, so do K9s, as both dogs were believed to have munched on some THC treats. After the TikTok was posted, Brinson told ZENGER that both pups slept soundly for six hours straight.

It’s pretty obvious that dogs shouldn’t eat edibles, especially with psychoactive THC. There are products on the CBD market geared towards dogs, especially those who have trouble sleeping, suffer from separation anxiety, or just need to chill out. While these products are safe for ingestion if purchased from licensed retailers, THC, on the other hand, can be rather dangerous.
Taking your dog to the vet the moment you find out they ingested THC is the immediate first step. Some other helpful tips include knowing when your dog ate them, how much did they eat, and how powerful the edible was (i.e., the THC content).
