The Flatbush Zombies cannabis lifestyle brand is one of the most influential players in the industry.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of cannabis and “lifestyle” brands in North America, but most of them don’t make a mark or have a long-lasting impact on the industry. It’s only the dedicated and unique ones that tend to stand out.
One of the leading influential brands out there right now is a familiar one, Talking Terps. The brand was created in 2015 between Leor Feit (Hope Lord), Flatbush Zombies member Antonia Lewis (Zombie Juice), and Flatbush Zombies spiritual adviser Phil Annand (PTA Haiti 3000), notes Thrillist.
Just a year after launching the brand, Talking Terps appeared in Flatbush Zombies track and made clear that the company’s initiatives were just beginning. While the brand dubs itself as a lifestyle brand, similar to most cannabis companies out there, Talking Terps takes that notion to the next level by intertwining cannabis culture, toy culture, psychedelic culture, and American pop culture.

Co-founder of Talking Terps Hope Lord told Thrillist that “For OG Terp Crawford to be featured amongst Nike, Jordans, Supreme, BAPE, and PS5s is really sick.” Hope Lord is referencing one of Talking Terp’s figurines that’s currently available on Stock X. He added that the online e-commerce website is “not taking everyone who makes a toy and putting it up there.”
By bridging the gap between core cultures that often relate to each other, Talking Terps has become one of the most influential cannabis brands today, amassing a loyal and “cult” following by cannabis users, hype beasts, and more according to Thrillest.
It wasn’t long before the cultures named above began using Talking Terps, not as a brand but as a phrase. The saying then popped up on a 2017 t-shirt worn by Snoop Dogg himself. As the phrase saw more hype, Talking Terps created OG Terp Crawford, a figurine and collectible toy.
The toy dropped in March 2020 and consists of a 6-inch tall vinyl sculpture of a human-like nug that comes with an apt smile on his face and a rolled joint in his hand. The company has mentioned that the figurine comprises everything they stand for, to “love each other and be happy…tread lightly and disrupt nothing,” Lord told Thrillest.
