For me, the focus effects helped give me an overall better feeling about what I was doing during the day-to-day (work, family, etc.). I feel a bit of an energetic boost up to a few hours after I take it in the morning but the focus effects last all day (for the both of us). Talk to the people in the store if you have a local spot. Ask them to help you figure out what you need (how much to start with, when to use, etc.). As a suggestion, if you're stressed out (family, work, life), add Sucrosomial Magnesium to your diet along with this (but talk to your doc if you have health issues, of course). And stay hydrated.
