The Slater Center is conveniently located at 1 Corliss St. in Providence, RI, just off Interstate 95. We are open seven days a week: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

When the Slater Center opened its doors as the first medical cannabis dispensary in Rhode Island in 2013, our mission was to provide safe, dignified and affordable access to medical cannabis for all approved patients. We now also offer a wide assortment of top-quality cannabis for adult recreational users over age 21.

History:

The founder of Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center was inspired to found the center because of his grandmother’s painful battle with cancer, where she may have found relief from her suffering and pain had she been legally able to use medical cannabis. His grandmother’s case coupled with many other personal acquaintances suffering from a myriad of illnesses and conditions which could find relief in medical marijuana and combined with his work as a caregiver. These instances all culminated in his choice to found a center where patients like his friends and family could receive their cannabis medicine in an accessible and safe place. In April 2013, the Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center became the first dispensary in Rhode Island, and since has helped patients in Providence and across the state safely access medical marijuana and improve their overall quality of life.
