Two of the newer cannabinoids combined for an unstoppable force of benefits. We are all still acquainted with Delta 8 and THCV, but now let’s see what happens when we combine the two.

Delta 8 THCV is one of the hundreds of cannabinoids that naturally occur in hemp and cannabis plants. However, it appears in scarce doses, which is why manufacturers must synthetically extract and concentrate it into oils, edibles, tinctures, and other concentrates.
Similar to other cannabinoids, Delta 8 THCV interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, but we don’t have enough research to indicate exactly how it works.
We can only surmise based on what we know about its cannabinoid brethren–THC and THCV.
While Delta 8 THC might give you a great body-buzz and relaxation, THCV might provide mental clarity, productivity and focus. Using them together might create a ‘super Sativa effect – mind & body relief.
People who use THCV sometimes claim that it helps them for improving mood and focus on the mind. In addition, THCV is known for the fact that people are using it to balance their appetite, so if you are getting the munchies after using cannabis, adding THCV to your sesh might curve those munchies for you.
While more research is needed, people who have been using THCV (with or without other cannabinoids) already report that it has been helping them with certain symptoms.
Unlike regular THC, which increases appetite THCV might be an appetite suppressant and may assist in maintaining your weight. While it is not a miracle diet pill, it probably won’t produce the same effect regular weed does and make you run to the refrigerator.
THCV won’t really get you high. It is only psychoactive when ingested in high doses. When stoned in high doses, it’s known to feel stimulating with a sense of clarity and euphoria.
THCV has a fast on-set time with a fast off-set time. If you are someone who suffers paranoia or anxiety when smoking weed, you may benefit from trying THCV for the speed through your body. In low doses, THCV shines as a great way to gain a medley of health benefits.

THCV may be good news for people suffering from Type 2 diabetes. Studies have shown that this cannabinoid can improve glucose tolerance and help regulate insulin levels to stabilize blood sugar levels.
THCV could represent a new therapeutic agent in glycemic control. More encouraging news comes from a study done by Harvard Medical School, which concluded:
“Subjects who reported using marijuana in the past month had lower levels of fasting insulin and HOMA-IR [insulin resistance], higher levels of HDL-C [high-density lipoprotein or ‘good’ cholesterol], as well as smaller waist circumference.”

Like other cannabinoids, THCV interacts with our endocannabinoid system (ECS). Experts are still learning how it works, but the ECS plays a role in regulating much of our mental and physical wellbeing, including appetite, mood, and sleep.
The ECS consists of two main types of receptors, CB1 and CB2. THC activates the CB1 receptor which prompts the release of hunger-promoting hormones. THCV does the opposite, blocking the CB1 receptor and decreasing hunger.
The appetite-suppressing effect of blocking the CB1 receptor has been known for some time. However, pharmaceutical drugs designed to block this receptor caused bad side effects. Thankfully, THCV does not.
This report from a major marijuana test lab pretty much sums up current findings on THCV as it relates to anxiety control:
THCV has been found to reduce or even block panic attacks and, as a result, can be highly effective in the management of PTSD and other mental disorders involving anxiety or stress, as shown in research in places like Israel, where a great amount of cannabis research is done.
THCV doesn’t appear to suppress emotions, only the ability to panic, associated with the fight or flight response.
Because it can bind with both the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the body’s endocannabinoid system, THCV can reduce muscular tremors associated with Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and ALS, and has also been shown to reduce the brain lesions that occur in the later stages of Alzheimer’s.
There’s also evidence that THCV can reduce both the frequency and the severity of seizures, both when taken as a preventative measure, and when administered during the event.
Work is now underway to create cannabis strains and derivatives that have minimal THC content and medium THCV content, in hopes of developing a non-intoxicating product that can be used to treat epilepsy in both adults and children.
Delta 8 THC is measured through potency tests in the same way that CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids are measured. Many laboratory’ protocol is to use Ultra-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) machinery to measure Delta 8 THC potency in flowers, edibles, and extracts.
HPLC is the preferred instrument for these products due to its ability to test samples at room temperature without requiring heat. Heat breaks down cannabinoids into different forms and skews the potency information.
HPLC accurately tests both Delta 8 THCA and Delta 8 THC for precise results.
Yes. Since Delta 8 is a natural hemp-derived compound containing less than 0.3% of THC, it is federally legal. On a state level, however, these laws vary tremendously.
