Herb Plated: The Best Pizza Joints In Brooklyn

Some of these places might even have the best 'za in the country.

If you don’t like pizza, this guide isn’t for you.

We know our cherished New Yorkers adore their cheesy slices of heaven. Whether you’re a local or new to Brooklyn, we want to help you find the best pizza in town.

After stopping in at a few of the hottest spots around Brooklyn, I narrowed it down to my five favorites.

Let’s not forget that my munchies were rolling hard after hitting DIMO’s Premium Delta-8 Exotics Pre-Roll: Berry Crush. These delightful pre-rolls were the perfect pregame for a day of tasting some of Brooklyn’s best pizza.

Keep reading to see where you’ll snag some next-level ‘za next.

All I have to say is if it’s good enough for Beyoncé, it’s good enough for me.

Yes, the Queen Bee herself has eaten here. Legend has it, she got the Bee Sting pizza, so I had to try it myself. It’s a beautiful wood-fire oven creation that comes with mozzarella, tomato, soppressata, chili, basil, and honey.

The flavors blended exquisitely, and it was definitely one of the freshest pizzas I’ve ever had. Roberta’s was a tad busy, but the wait was so worth it.

Macchina

My experience at Macchina was a chef’s kiss.

It’s a rather new pizza joint but definitely lives up to the name of kickass Brooklyn pizza. I was really impressed to learn that Macchina ferments its dough for 24 hours and makes all of its cheese on-site.

No wonder it was absolutely lip-smacking delicious.

I had what every other table was ordering, the renowned Burrata Pizza. It came with mouthwatering homemade burrata, red and black Hawaiian sea salt, and garlic oil. It was so crispy, definitely a different kind of pizza experience that I won’t forget.

Juliana's

This is a spot I’ve heard of before but didn’t try until recently. Apparently, it has quite the rivalry going on with its next-door neighbor, Grimaldi’s. So my friends and I tried both.

It’s a quaint little Italian place that also serves vegan options.

We shared the popular Margherita Pizza, which comes with a generous serving of tomato, mozzarella, and basil. It was so fresh, and the crust was crispy on the outside with a fluffy and warm interior.

I will definitely be eating at Juliana’s again.

Grimaldi's

I was starting to get a little full after having four slices of pizza from different popular places. But my time at Grimaldi’s, right beside Juliana’s, was just as delightful.

The line was pretty long, so it gave me time to work up my appetite again (with help from another hit of DIMO’s pre-roll).

We shared the chef’s selection, the Prosciutto Arugula Pizza. It came loaded with thinly sliced prosciutto, a shaved cheese blend, and fresh arugula.

Rosie Pizza Bar

For the last stop of the day, we rolled over to Rosie Pizza Bar.

We heard this place ferments its dough for 48 hours, one of the main reasons we decided to stop by.

We shared the 10″ Rosie, a perfectly baked pie with;

  • Sautéed eggplant
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Nduja sausage
  • Ricotta
  • Tomato sauce
  • Mozzarella
  • Scallions.

It was a unique experience for my palate, and I adored how the dough gradually thins out near the crust for a crunchy and crispy bite. The powerful flavors complimented each other perfectly.

By the time we were finished, we were waddling out of Rosie’s with full tummies, pizza breath, and smiles on our faces.
