How To Make Cannabis Lotion: 1:1 THC, CBD

Imagine a sanctuary where the curative magic of CBD and THC can be unleashed onto your skin.

As the health and wellness space evolves, cannabis topicals are carving out a niche of their own. Whether you are a seasoned cannabis user or a curious newcomer, creating your DIY cannabis-infused can be a rewarding project that unveils the extraordinary benefits of cannabis.

Let us guide you through the realm of cannabis topicals, their captivating benefits, and a step-by-step journey to concoct your very own unique blend of balanced lotion.

What Are Cannabis Topicals?

Welcome to the fascinating world of cannabis topicals, a treasure trove of balms, creams, and lotions, each bursting with the strong power of cannabinoids – CBD and THC, found in our good friend, the cannabis plant.

Before your mind wanders, topicals are not your everyday beauty products, nor will they take you on a psychoactive journey. Unlike other forms of cannabis consumption, topicals are the undercover agents of the cannabis world, providing their services without the notorious “high” THC usually delivers to its patrons.

Here’s how it works: these compounds are absorbed directly through the skin without being absorbed into the bloodstream. Once absorbed into the skin, topicals will begin mingling with your body’s cannabinoid system and deliver targeted benefits right where they’re needed.

Benefits Of Cannabis Topicals - Version 1

  • The Age-Defying Alchemist

Cannabis topicals are quite the skincare enthusiast with their potent antioxidant capacities. The antioxidants found in cannabis topicals valiantly defend your skin against the march of time and environmental damage.

  • The Inflammation Whisperer

From the angry red rush of inflammation to the discomfort and itchiness of allergic reactions, cannabis topicals can bring anti-inflammatory relief by reducing swelling and soothing the immune system. A true botanical balm of calm!

  • The Silent Pain Vanquisher

Like unseen heroes, cannabis topicals target your woes, offering relief by easing your aches and pains in localized regions, where it is needed most

  • User-friendly

There’s something to be said about the simplicity of cannabis topicals. There is no elaborate ritual or a complicated set of instructions. Seasoned users or eager newbies can slather it on and let the topical work the magic.

How To Make Magical Cannabis Lotion

Here we finally are: diving into the art of botanical alchemy. Here is where we dive into the process of crafting your magical cannabis lotion. Think of this as marrying coconut oil and cannabis.

Ingredients & Supplies You’ll Need

The concoction of balanced, 1:1 THC, CBD comfort requires:

  • 5g of dried THC cannabis
  • 5g of dried CBD cannabis
  • ½ cup shea butter* (unrefined if you can)
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • cup aloe vera gel
  • Any fragrant essential oil
  • Baking sheet and pan
  • Saucepan
  • Cheesecloth
  • Spatula
  • Crockpot
  • Glass container

*Cocoa butter can be used as an alternative to shea butter.

Step-By-Step Process

  1. Gather ingredients and equipment
  • Obvious, but necessary
  1. Decarboxylate your cannabis to activate the cannabinoids
  • Preheat your oven to 220 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Break up cannabis flower into smaller pieces with your hands or grinder; spread them out evenly on a baking sheet
  • Bake cannabis for 30 minutes, gently flipping with a spatula every 10 minutes
  • Cannabis should now be light brown and very dry. Let cool.
  1. Melt your oils
  • Melt coconut oil and shea butter in a saucepan over low to medium heat until it is a liquid-consistency
  1. Oil it up!
  • Combine decarboxylated cannabis flower, coconut oil, and shea butter in a crockpot
  • Heat mixture on low heat for 4-6 hours. Ensure the temperature does not exceed 220 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Stir periodically until no lumps are left
  • Strain mixture through a cheesecloth into a glass jar
  1. Finishing the topical lotion
  • Combine your essential oil of choice with aloe vera gel
  • Combine oil+aloe vera mix with the strained mixture from the previous step 6. Storage
  • Pour lotion into a glass container
  • Keep lotion in cool, dark, and dry places to prolong its lifespan
  • Make sure your hands are very clean when going into your jar – bacteria can make your product spoil faster!

There you have it, fellow botanical adventurers. We’ve now journeyed through the voyage of cannabinoids, danced with decarboxylation science, and crafted a potent potion that can soothe your aches and pains.

This magical 1:1 THC, CBD lotion brew is now your secret DIY weapon, so slather on generously and don’t be shy to experiment with tweaking this recipe.
